Your favorite video game music?

Video games have some fantastic music; from classic games to modern games. If you play games, chances are, you will have your favorite video game tune. Something that tells you how good the game really is. So whats your favorite game theme tune?One of my favoritemost recent themesare the Uncharted themes but my favorite theme is probably the one played during the 2 jetpack space levels in Crash Bandicoot 2.

I liked some of the in-game music from Uncharted, but the theme, sorry to say, is EXTREMELY generic hollywood blockbuster affair.

Lately I've been listening to the Tokyo Philharmonic performing various old 8/16-bit pieces. Next to nothing within recent generations touches some of those compositions.

Once the theme to the original Castlevania enters my head, it takes up a loooong residency.

I liked the music from jak X - millionaire -> Queens of stone age. an awesome opening cutscene i would say ^^

and i love mgs series music, like the opening music from mgs3 - Love theme or Snake eater, cant remember... and mgs 4 of course

I like the music from Doom, its eerie yet its like heavy metal at the same time. it fits the atmosphere of the game very well.

Without a doubt, the music from Katamari Damacy for the PS2. The two soundtrack albums are amazing.

It's already been mentioned tons of times but the Castlevania series has amazing music.

Particularly the original on NES, my all time favorite.

My favorites that quicklycome to mind are mostly all from the NES and SNES, so those are what I will list:

1. RBI Baseball (NES): This theme appeared in MANY games. Easy but catchy and memorable!

2. Battletoads (NES): (while game is Paused) Those beating drums is easily one of my favorite. I find myself beat boxing it out from time to time to this day... lol

3. Super Mario Brothers (NES): No explanation needed really.... but if you want one, basically the same reason as #2

4. RC Pro AM (NES)= One of my favorite all time games with a rocking intro!

5. Journey to Silius (NES)= Just a great NES sound track all the way!

6. Donkey Kong Country (SNES) Just classic

7. Killer Instinct (SNES) Nostalgia, and nicely done.

I think thats a good start at least.

Chrono Cross hands down for me. The music throughout the game was fantastic, and it's even incorporated into the gameplay of a boss fight.

Everyone seems to be forgetting F-Zero on the Snes

VGM is my favorite genre of music, so it's hard to say for me. I'd say "all" to appeal to the different types of music, but I'm not surprising in my choices. I'd have to say Monty on the Run Theme, The Moon, Stickerbrush Symphony, Dr. Wily Stage One, Metal Gear Solid 3 Main Theme, To Zanarkand, One-Winged Angeland Simple and Clean come first to mind. Then there is Gangplank Galleon, 02 Theme, Dancing Mad, Phendrana Drifts, Still Alive, Pursuing My True Self, The Battle For Everyone's Souls, Live and Learn, Porky Means Business, Drawcia boss themes, Bloody Tears, Those Who Remain, Roar of the Departed Souls and the hundreds of songs and themes I'm forgetting. Hmmm, what to choose.

Final Fantasy X and Donkey Kong Country 2.

MGS music was good. But my favorite is KOTOR because it has that epic star wars feel to it. I especially like how the games start like the movies.
