The farthest back I can remember playing a video game is Donkey Kong Country on the SNES... But also Super Mario All Stars... one of the two.

Mario Bros + Duck Hunt combo on the NES (think I tried Duck Hunt first). On my 7th birthday or something like that. Would anyone laugh if its main selling factor for me was no loading times? Until then I was used to the Commodore 64 (some games taking 5-10 minutes to load each level). My brother told me the NES had no loading times at all and I honestly didn't believe him, but he insisted :P

The first one that I had ownership of was Super Mario World & the SNES package!

The first one is actually played?! I don't know dude! That was ages ago! I'd guess Super Mario Bro's because it was a staple back in the day!

I had since way back when and played Bad Dudes on it, but that wasn't Nintendo's child, it was just a release on the NES. Unfortunately, my best friends little brother (I was six, best friend was younger, the little tyke was in diapers still) shoved a banana through the middle of the disk (the old 5.25 or whatever, when a floppy disk really was floppy).

I also remember gems like donkey kong jr, duck hunt, double dragon, and some game with fester as the main character.

I played a lot more PC games back then though.

Donkey Kong on AtariThomasTheGreat
Wow, I completely forgot about Donkey Kong on the Atari. I pulled out my Atari collection the other day to make sure all of my titles were added to my gaming collection, and sure enough, there it was. Interestingly enough, it was the only cartridge that was not the standard black. It was beige, making it easy to spot in the pile of 50+ games. :)

My first Nintendo game on any system was Donkey Kong for ColecoVision which came with it.

When I got the NES, I bought the budget one with no game since I was young & poor at the time and had to buy it on my own so I got Contra with it. Great game it was too. After that I bought the original Metroid and that was outstanding as well.

My first Nintendo game I ever played was Donkey Kong. My first console Nintendo game, if you don't count SMB / Duck Hunt, was Metroid or Ice Climber. We rented them both together and I can't remember which I played first.

My neighbors had a couple full sized arcade games. Back in 1983 that was pretty amazing. One of them was Donkey Kong, and at age6 I completely sucked at it.

My first console Nintendo game would be Golf. Pretty unimpressive. In fact the first 3 games I played on NES' were Golf, Baseball, and Ghosts'n'Goblins. None of them really impressed me (though to be fair Ghost'n'Goblins was so freaking hard no one could play it so I hated it). It wasn't until I saw Super Mario Brothers that the NES even interested me... and then 30 seconds after watching a cousin play it, my soul was pretty much lost to videogames for the next 20 years.

For the NES, I believe my bro got it. It was Duck Hunt, and this was before I was born. I'm sure it was the only game for it that we had for a while.

My first videogame on the Nintendo Entertainment System was Friday the 13th. My sister was playing and I'd just mash away on the second controller. To be honest the game scared the heck out of me. I was very scared when the Jason indicator would pop up, Jason would try to fight you, and his mother's severed head. The perfect game for 3 or 4 year old... atleast I got some excitement when the getting was good. That music still creeps me out.
