Always & Forever: Super Nintendo. It'shome to some of the best and timelessvideo games ever created (Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, and Mega Man X to name a few).
How can anyone not choose the PS2? Nothing comes close. The PS2 had the best library of exclusive games of all time:
Shadow of the Colossus, Kingdom Hearts 1+2, Jak 1,2+3, Sly 1,2+3, Dark Cloud 1+2, Metal Gear Solid 2+3, Persona 3+4, Bully, Tale of the Abyss and Tales of Legendia.
I still play my PS2 more than I play my PS3 or 360. The games were a lot better back then, the consoles of today are being plagued by generic and rehashed shooters.
The Super Nintendo (SNES). It is the greatest 2D-centric video game system ever made, IMO. It took everything that was great about the NES (and there's a whole lot I could sat about NES, too) and made all that cool stuff better: Better graphics, better sound, more colors, bigger & longer games, a much-improved controller, and a lot more reliable hardware.
But the best part of it is (as is any system): The games! And SNES had a helluva a library for an old-school, 2D-loving gamer like myself. Some of my favorites on the system:
1. Playstation 2 : Sooo many high quality games for this console
2. N64
3. Dreamcast : Half the reason this is so high is just because of Shenmue :p
For me, it would be the Sega Saturn, because of:
Battle Garegga
Blast Wind
Burning Rangers
Clockwork Knight
Darius Gaiden
Dark Savior
Die Hard Arcade
Fighters Megamix
Galactic Attack
Guardian Force
Guardian Heroes
The House of the Dead
Hyper Duel
NiGHTS into Dreams
Panzer Dragoon
Panzer Dragoon II Zwei
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Radiant Silvergun
Saturn Bomberman
Soukyugurentai
Virtual-On
As well as the best home versions of 2D fighters, including X-Men: Children of the Atom, Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 2 & 3, Vampire Savior, and many more.

don't forget, Bulk Slash , Dead Or Alive, Winter Heat and many more :P
SNES.
I did not care for the ps2. The system was just filled with mediocre games. Original xbox was a much better console imo.
If you want to compare the ratio of quality games to mediocre ones, the SNES wasn't much better...I did not care for the ps2. The system was just filled with mediocre games.

I'm aware there was plenty of filler on the snes, but even the top games on the ps2 lacked, imo. The xbox was the better of the two consoles. It offered better exclusives and xbox live--something that set it apart from the competition. The ps2 is one of the dullest systems I've ever owned.

I agree. PS2 has a HUGE library of good games. Tons of games to choose from, and plenty that will fill the need. However, it is lacking when it comes to GREAT games. Both Gamecube and XBox exclusives beat out PS2's exclusives easily. I don't think PS2 is a bad system by any means, it's a great system, it's just not the best one last generation.

interestingly , Ive been looking into maybe getting an original Xbox, although the only 2 games I want for it are the 2 Dead Or Alive games.name me 5 xbox exclusive games that were really great? all I can say is morrowind

I'll play devil's advocate here:
Phantom Dust
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Steel Battalion
Otogi: Myth of Demons
Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors
JSRF
Metal Wolf Chaos
...and now, in contrast, all of the PS2 exclusives which I believe to be really great:
Blood Will Tell
Chaos Legion
Contra: Shattered Soldier
Demon Chaos (aka Ikusagami)
Devil May Cry
DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou
ESPGaluda
Gitaroo Man
God Hand
Gradius V
Ibara
Katamari Damacy
The King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match
Mushihime-sama
Odin Sphere
Psyvariar Complete Edition
R-Type Final
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Time Crisis 2
Time Crisis 3
Way of the Samurai
We Love Katamari
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner
(Yes, these were ports of arcade games. Good luck finding a cheaper way to play them at home, or finding the console-exclusive extra modes in the arcade machines)
Okami was also notably better on the PS2 for multiple reasons.

man you made this hard for me ,
there is the snes -which i still collect games for -due to how cheap they are
but then theres nintendo wii goldeneye is enough to put that right in line then theres dkc etc ,
also n64 -- also has goldeneye , hmm wierd, 2 of my favorite consoles ,, having mostly the same actually make that 3 -cause snes had dkc , and kirby lol also wii has snes n64 and other games from other older systems so it s easily up there
then ps1, the only console i can actually say sony did perfect on ,, it just had everything exclusives its what made gen 5 unique , each system had their games
this gen you hardly ever see this
and for that ps1 is number 4 on my list
number 5 goes to a handheld by the name of 3ds it plays ds games has virtual handheld which has gbc gb games and 3d oldies and , other dsi3ds software easy \victory for nintendo id say cause its finally a handheld i will enjoy -i did enjoy gba and ds but this one just seams to have more enjoyable games

nothing on that list impresses me much except morrowin and fable. there are better racing games on different platforms(gran turismo, hell even the prequal metropolis street racer), way better wrestling games. honestly raw sucked major ass, orta was indeed great but I'm not too much of a shooter fan, halo is much overrated shooter in my book, ninja gaiden was also released on ps3 I think and shenmue 2 was released on dreamcast and was much better version
Did not think that would be your choice...hmmm...[QUOTE="Darkman2007"]
PS1.

On Topic:
From the NES till now, I have had (far and away) the most fun with the games on the PS2. TBH I don't think I will ever have more fun with another system/games
I like the PS1 more, but at the same time, the Saturn is not far behined.
[QUOTE="rawsavon"]@Dark I was just surprised is all. The PS1 is my second favorite console.Darkman2007yeah I know, PS1 is a good console to have as a favourite , or 2nd favourite, plenty of good games. The more I think about it, the closer it gets to the #1 spot (grandia, suikoden 1/2, Lunar games, ff9, chrono cross, FF tactics) ...it is damn close for me atm. Only Shadow Hearts 1/2 put the PS2 above it
