Hi everyone I was wondering what some other people thought of playing Goldeneye after all these years. I actually made my own little review for this purpose.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6KZhgSVjVw(I plan on reviewing some of my other games in my collection)

If you don't like my voice or whatever here's basically my biggest pet peeve with it the controls will irritate you if you are a FPS fan since you only use one analog stick to move, turn, etc. Another thing that irritated me was the draw distance in game I know it's old, but on the snow levels you literally can't tell where you are going.

Overall I would have to say the game is still very fun to play campaign wise, but multiplayer I couldn't really enjoy after playing more modern multiplayer games. So what is your opinion of Goldeneye now compared to back then? (Also the the third level still rules with the tank!)

You can change the control style so that it would be similar to today's shooting games. You would then use the analog stick to look and the c-buttons to move.

I am not that big of an FPS fan to begin with but I remember picking up Goldeneye back in the day due to all of the hype. I have two brothers so we got to tool around with the multiplayer and it was kind of fun. I was a much bigger fan of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter though. Still my favorite FPS of all time (Doom II runs a close second).

i popped it back in about year ago after moving and going through all the old stuff...

still great, had trouble with the controls at first. picked it back up quickly though. It could use a remake. I'd buy it.

back in the day...it was awesome. But...I can't force myself to play it anymore. The controls are too clunky, and it's hardly enjoyable. (more frustrating than anything)

It's amazing how back in the day it was the fps, but now it's so slow and clunky it's hard to get back into when compared to the current fps games.

still a great shooter, especially with the optimized control scheme. it still has way more control schemes than most modern shooters. If they just remade the game with the graphics/sound updated, it would still be great.

Still has the best single player campaign in any console FPS. The controls can take getting used to again, but it's worth it.

I used to love the game to death, but when I play it these days I can't go for more than 5 or 10 minutes; I've been spoiled by the wonderful mouse/keyboard combination for controls... that being said, I also have trouble playing any FPS on a new gen console as well :P

I don't know! Someone lost my Goldeneye game!

However, I still think I'd love it. I don't care about control schemes.

not as fun as it use to be, the endless respawning enemies gets old big time, and the clunky controls.

Pretty unplayable the last I had tried. Of course I didn't have all my old friends and a couple cases of Bud Ice there so that likely took away from the experience.

No and I bet I would find it as undrinkable as I find Goldeneye unplayable if they did. But it was the bomb when I was 18-19.

I'd play through the game again but it wouldn't hold my interest long. I don't really have any desire to see it on the XBLA or VC like a lot of people seem to, and I would not care to play it online.

It's pretty bad these days. I have it in my collection and I rarely play it since the controls are just so terrible. I can't believe that I used to play so many N64 FPS games and find them fun. How did I ever manage to deal with one analog stick, horrible manual aiming, and a ridiculous amount of auto-aim?

This is why I have to fight the urge to yell at people who claim that Goldeneye is still a good game, or even worse, the idiots who think that Goldeneye is the best FPS ever. Anyone who thinks that Goldeneye is able to hold it's own against shooters like Halo or COD4, much less still be a playable FPS, has obviously not played the game since the N64 quit being sold in retail.

Well as it was one of my childhood favourites, with its incredible story mode and multiplayer for its time, I still love it. The controls you will pick back up pretty quickly, and it will bring back a tonne of memorys ! Graphics are pretty crappy compared to new age consoles, but hey for its time they where great, when you think that its all fit onto a 64 bit cartridge !

It's strange...Two generations ofconsoles have passed since this game's release, and yet the fun ofits multiplayer combat remains, to my experience, unsurpassed by that of almost any other game. The game is as fun as it ever was, unrivaled inits capability to entertain[if not in itsgraphics] by more modern games.

Well, back in the day I remember LOVING the N64 007 games(But I think I liked the one in the blue cartridge better than Goldeneye...I can't remember the name, was it Die Another Day or something...?), but back in September me and my friends tried playing Goldeneye. I got bored of it after one or two games...XD It's so different now...

I don't/never own/played Goldeneye; but a month ago I bought Perfect Dark for ten dollars at a flea market. Since it is the same game engine I'll use that. It was actually a lot of fun; even if I didn't have any nostalgic ties to it as a kid (I avoided the bloody games back then) and is easily one of the greatest FPS' of its time. Co-op with a computer AI sidekick; most shooters to this very day don't include things like that!

There are many Goldeneye inspired maps on Counter Strike: Source that me and my brothers play frequently. They stay true to the originals, with the hidden doors and strong glass, etc.

I am not that in to the single player mode but still have a blast when I can get at least a couple friends to gether and blast away at each other in the stack w/ grenade launchers. It's my favorite offline multiplayer game ever.
