Batman returns for the SNES wins, hands down.
Come on now, you could grab two enemies and smash their heads together with a satisfying crunch!!
While we are on the subject of old super hero games, let me show you that this is the best Spiderman game.get-ka12
Carnage was a pain to beat
Seriously, I know it's the Legacy forum and I'm a collector myself who tries to find the good in all of the games I play, but seriously, this vs. Arkham Asylum is a joke. One major shortcoming of this game compared to AA is that the NES version is based off of the 80's Michael Keaton Batman movie. I'm not saiyng that the movie was bad, but AA being based on the comic book makes it virtually timeless. Arkham Asylum is an almost perfect 3d action/platformer, which should beat an almost perfect 2d platformer every time.
As for Maximum Carnage, I loved it as a kid, but once again Spider-Man for Dreamcast was a far better representation. The DC version actually had a swing mechanic which should be important for a Spider-Man game, and it wasn't Final Fight or Streets of Rage with a Spider-Man skin pulled over it.
fully agreed. Arkham Asylum was amazing, but I still prefer the NES Batman. It just...feels better. That is the best Batman game ever made. I still have it for my NES, and could never make it past the second end boss due to it's unforgiving difficulty. The second best Batman game would be Batman: Arkham Asylum.

I still have that for the NES and played it recently. It has one hell of a soundtrack! but it is very hard.
well i agree that game is good, but its not THE BEST. the new one is WAY BETTER. and I personally own the WORST Batman game. "Batman Returns" for the Atari Lynx......... you only get 1 life, no continues, and if you just make one wrong jump, game over. graphics are good, but such an unforgiving game.
Okay... That game was good. Good luck finding people who own that and Arkham Asylum, like myself, to agree with that one though.billyd5301
I own both, and this was the last good batman game IMO till AA showed up. Kinda sad when you think about it since batman games have had that long of a stretch between good games but at least the curse is now broken and we can say that there is one more awesome batman game.
Batman Returns for the SNES and Batman for Sega Genesis are my favorite Batman games, I've only played the demo of the newest game and it reminded an awful lot of the ol' beat em' up days.

That might be the only good Ljn game ever. I loved Maximum Carnage when I was younger. I wish I could have got a copy of it back then. I never think to look for it now.
If you went back to 1990 and you had this game and Batman AA, which one would you play? What good would AA have without any of the consoles? and if I had the consoles I would patent everything i could with the 2 systems and keep sony and microsoft from ever making consoles. either that or sell them the technology for loads of money[QUOTE="kemar7856"]
