POLL: Which SEGA system is your absolute favorite?

What SEGA system is your absolute favorite?? As much as I love the Saturn and Mega Drive, I gotta go with the Dreamcast... it brought next-gen graphics that were far beyond anything ever seen (See: Soul Calibur) - but of course that would mean nothing without its incredible lineup of games... Soul Calibur, Street Fighter III, Sonic Adventure, Rayman 2, Skies of Arcadia, Marvel vs Capcom 1/2, Power Stone, Crazy Taxi, Shenmue, etc etc etc... it goes down in history to me as one of the greatest consoles of all time, and I still play mine regularly, even though I bought it over 9 years ago :-D

Heres my list of my favorite Sega consoles in order:

1) Dreamcast

2) Saturn

3) Mega Drive

4) Master System

5) Game Gear

Sadly, I was never given the chance to play a 32X or CD... although I will hopefully own both one day...

What is your pick for your favorite SEGA system?

its a close tie between the Mega Drive and Saturn, Saturn wins slightly because of Panzer Dragoon Saga, but the Mega Drive has Sonic CD (with the Mega CD of course), so im not really sure

Genesis. I have some pretty good memories with that machine...

genesis nothing could beat it except the snes and 360 the 360 has a disc with 40+ of the best genesis games in 1080p the snes has better graphics and sound for most multi plat games between the two

Definitely Genesis for me.

I play my Saturn the most. I really like the kind of games it has. So different to what the other two major consoles were doing at the time. I guess I'm more of a 2D kid when it comes to retro consoles. The Dreamcast is a great system too with some excellent games but I just haven't spent as much time with it.danb0

Man I miss my Saturn.. I got one for Christmas with the "3 free games offer" - but eventually ended up selling it - big mistake!

I think Virtua Fighter 2 and Nights: Into Dreams were my fav games for that system...

The Dreamcast by a very large margin. I just never really liked their older systems but I had such great gaming memories with the Dreamcast that I still find myself remembering the day it officially died and they cancelled the Dreamcast magazine and I get sad all over again.

I'd say Dreamcast first, Genesis 2nd.

Dreamcast was the first console released in that generation (before PS2, GameCube and Xbox). It was Sega's last 'HURRAH', where they seemed to do everything right, it just didn't work out. The system has even outlasted 3 DVD drives in my Xbox, if that says anything about the quality.

Genesis, I had after I already had an SNES, but there were enough exclusives to make it worth the time and money.

I played Double Dragon on a Master System a few times and enjoyed it as much as the NES version, but never owned one.

When I chose to get a PlayStation instead of the Saturn (when they had the 3 free game deal), it was ultimately due to Twisted Metal being exclusive.

My favorite Sega system is the Dreamcast with the Genesis not to far behind.

The genesis. It's the only consle good enough to be of any competition to the Super Nintendo.

The Genesis still holds my fondest video game memories of any console, so definitely it.

Genesis for me. It had a good variety of genres and a large catalog of great games. The other systems were too niche.

Genesis will live to be my absolute favorite console. It was my first console EVER in gaming when i was only 3. Just recently it died( would turn on =( ). Ima just admit i did cry , not because I'm a p***y, because it was my first console and the one thing that ever got me into video games....thank you sega...

I would pick the first version of the Sega Genesis released in 1989. Back then the N.E.S was the top console then Sega released the first genesis with then great pack in game Altered beast. Sega had the best console offering at the time when a 16-bit console was the top of the line gaming system with great arcade translations for it's time. Which blew away the N.E.S's arcade conversions by a mile, Plus as a bonus the cartridge cases for the games were better than nintendo's cardboard boxes. Sega reigned supreme over Nintendo until the S.N.E.S arrived in 1991. The Genesis 2 (redesign although smaller didn't quite do it for me as the start/reset button were prone to getting stuck) The remake felt cheaply made. This marks the only time Sega had the top console of a generation. 1989-1991 Other Sega systems failed lead their generations. Dreamcast & Saturn were crushed by Sony. Gamegear was crushed by the orginal monocolor Gameboy.

Dreamcast, possibley the most under-rated system of all time.

Dreamcast hands down! it has my favorite game for that console;Shenmue.

not sure why you say this... sure the DC got a lot of attention and has some very hardcore fans- but that is because it earned that with revolutionary graphics, online play, and some bad booty games... (most of them exclusive, unlike today's games)
