This is a game I really wasn't planning on getting, but since it's Atlus I may have to make an exception before it's hard to find(probably the case already). Anyway the game looks extremely similar to VP 1/2 in certain areas, I was wondering how if I should just play those first.
While it may look similar (the first of the 5 main characters is a Valkyrie), the story, world, characters, and battle system are all totally different. I'm about 4 hours in and don't see how playing or not playing Valkyrie Profile would have any impact on your enjoyment of this game, be it positive or negative.
Bear in mind that the Valkyrie Profile series is by Enix/SquareEnix. The only conncections the games have is just that they're based on Norse mythology.
