They're popular outside the gaming community as well. There's a reason why Ninja Gaiden gets ported so much, and why it and KOTOR both became "platinum hits" titles for the Xbox.

Grandia, in my opinion its one of the best RPGs on the PS1 (and Saturn), yet for some reason, not many people played it (its just as good as any FF game, but it probably sold 10th of what a typical FF game does)

:)I really wish I could find a copy of Grandia for a decent priceGrandia, in my opinion its one of the best RPGs on the PS1 (and Saturn), yet for some reason, not many people played it (its just as good as any FF game, but it probably sold 10th of what a typical FF game does)
Darkman2007
Xenogears.
Hands down the best RPG I have ever played. The storyline totally pwns FF7 and all the other FF's for that matter. I absolutely loved this game but because it was released around the same time as FF7 it got very little recognition. Best 80 **** hours I ever spent on a game.

im not sure about where you live, but in the UK a used copy of Grandia usually costs no more then £10-£15, the Saturn version is even cheaper, but of course its japanese only.
sega: Boogerman N64: Silicon valley Dreamcast: Omikron 360: Two Worlds PC: PainkillerLessThanMikeHa, my friend and I spent hours playing Space Station: Silicon Valley! Quest 64, as well. I got the sense that not many people played Radiata Stories for PS2, but I really liked that game. PS2 (PS1 as well) just had RPG oversaturation, I guess. So many of those RPGs that nobody played could have been bestsellers on GC... I love the Monster Rancher series, and that doesn't seem to get a lot of love either. For SNES RPG fans, Romancing Saga 3 was a lot of fun, weirdly enough, even though the game design was totally flawed. Not even obscure RPG fans played it. Same with Dual Orb 2 and Terranigma.
AgreedXenogears.

Zeus: Master of Olympus (PC)(and the expansion)
Children of the Nile (PC)
Kohan: Immortal Soveirgns (PC)
Star Wars: Galaxies (PC)
Imperial Glory (PC)
Titan Quest (PC)
Evil Genius (PC) (perfect example)
Also, Sins of a Solar Empire (PC) is sadly becoming one of those. One of if not the best PC games in the past few years.
I never played the original Grandia, but I really enjoyed Grandia 2 on the Dreamcast.Grandia, in my opinion its one of the best RPGs on the PS1 (and Saturn), yet for some reason, not many people played it (its just as good as any FF game, but it probably sold 10th of what a typical FF game does)
Darkman2007
Alundra 2 (PS1) - Probably the most underestimated game ever. Cool story, humor, graphics, voiceovers and beyond all that, it's a very, very long (matches today's RPG's)
Tomba 2(PS1) - It's hard to believe that game like that got forgotten in a second. Highly recommended for anyone
Sweet. I picked up that game a little bit ago, just to try to flesh out my Xbox collection some more, and I'm glad to hear it was good. Maybe I should try it one of these days. One of the games I still play is Nascar Thunder 2003,but not many people I know like this kind of game.
