I never rethink purchasing a game with any reviews. If I'm going to buy it, it's because I'm confident with all the gameplay videos I've watched for it.
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. I knew the reviews were bad and i should have listened because that was one game i wish i never did get.

I actually bought it purely for the local co-op fun...The story is non-existent and the whole gameplay feels so "brainless" and "mindless"...Loot, loot, loot...
I notice a lot of games people mention got 8.5's here, that isn't a bad score people its an excellent score on the system being used these days. I go by the actual review more than the score and if possible a video :).

Mine was Saga Frontier and Legend of Dragoon. But I enjoyed both of those games in spite of their mediocre scores Legend of Dragoon is one of my favorite games I don't get why it has a mediocre score.
I got Dante's Inferno, Split/Second, and Lost Planet 2 this last year despite negative or so-so reviews, and I actually really liked these games, not just somewhat but had a great deal of fun playing them, bought AVP as well because I really liked the series, liked the colonial marine campaign somewhat but hated the other alien and predator campaigns, that was one of my letdowns, also went ahead and got Metro 2033 at release even though there were no reviews, and really liked that as well. Also picked up Deadly Premonition, was attracted to that "it's so bad its good" quality. I don't mind picking up games rated bad down the line when they're dirt cheap, picked up others like The Club, liked it, think its biggest mistake was releasing as a full retail game, would have made a better downloadable title, tried Alone in the Dark, it was okay up until the point the game was so broken I couldn't go any further, got Project Sylpheed since it's been ages I played anything in that genre, actually liked that... anyhow, again don't mind picking up games rated bad down the line once they get cheaper, sometimes they're a lot better than I expected, I think being they're not worth the full retail price often does a lot to lower review scores, but once they're fairly priced they don't seem as bad once you feel like you've played just about everything that you wanted to, you often have to scrape the bottom of the barrel just to find something worth playing, sometimes though you'll run into a gem you really enjoy, it's why I don't mind doing it
