Favorite Fighting game

As far as fighting games go; my personal favorite is Soul Calbur 2 and 3. I played Tekken and it was good but not great. Mortal Kombat featured fun bloodbaths but the gameplay wasen't solid enough. However I have yet to play a Street Fighter (I intend to buy 4 for PC) so I can't judge on that yet.

Mortal Kombat is my favorite.

I am not too big on fighters and have not played any of the newer series since probably 2003, but to this day I still prefer Street Fighter II Turbo.

i personally hate mortal kombat but i love capcom vs snk2(ps2), dead or alive 4, and tekken 5

It's between the Vs. series, Guilty Gear, Virtua Fighter and Smash Bros.

I know there is no Dead or Alive or King of Fighters. I wanted to include one of them; but since there were other fighting games beyond I had to get rid of them to put an 'Other' option. Sorry bout that, I just posted the most popular ones that I could think up for the first four. The whole only five option allowed in a poll tomfoolery.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo

Melty Blood. I generaly don't like fighting games , I enjoy MB because I'm a TypeMoon fanboy and it has excellent storyline.

Guilty Gear series, then the Tekken series.

It's hard to choose between Tekken and Dead or Alive.

By far, my favorite fighter is Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

The Samurai Shodown games were great too

I like both,Mortal Kombat II and Capcom vs. SNK 2,but in the poll my vote goes to MK. : )

Dead Or Alive Ultimate.

Mortal Kombat II is m single favourite. Midway refined the game to make it the most fun it's ever been. They've never been able to top the characters they made for that game, and the Dead Pool is by far the best stage they ever thought up.

As a series, it's a really tough choice for me between Mortal kombat and Tekken

I love both the Tekken and Soul Calibur series. I also like Killer Instinct.

Virtua Fighter series, especially 2 & 4.

Either Soul Calibur IV or Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

the street fighter alpha series, nothing comes close for me.

My favorite game is Def Jam: Fight for NY. First, I hate rap, DESPISE rap, so beating the crap out of other rappers was pretty satisfying. Second, this is just plain fun! It doesn't have the complicated 10-button + analog stick rotation, finger desecrating combos. There's a light/heavy attack, block, light/heavy throw, light/heavy combo, use of environment, weapons, and super moves. It's simple and bloody fighter with excellent production values. I highly recomment this game.

I'd probably go with Tekken, then Soul Calibur. I didn't play enough of Dead Or Alive to really judge it(But what I played was okay...and I like that Zack guy's mohawk. =D), Virtua Fighter's okay but I can't play using one button for both punches(I used to be able to just fine, but I got too used to Tekken. XD), and I never liked Street Fighter anyways...

as much as I love the Street Fighter series (especially 2 and 4), I gotta say Soul Calibur 1 on Dreamcast.

Utimate Mortal Komkat 3 gets my vote. Absolutely loved playing it in arcades in the 90s

for me VF4 Evolution, it' s the most complete and technical fighting game, almost 50 moves (handle included)for each player based on accurate and not casual button pressing, though many ppl love most immediate fighers alike street fighters
