Can They Just Completely Remake Resident Evil 4 Already?

I know it's probably incoming at *some* point, but for God's sake, how many times are they going to re-release the up-rezzed original game before they just completely remaster it (or remake, not sure about the official term here. But whatever they did to the original Resident Evil on GameCube. That. I want that) from the ground up?

Resident Evil 4, in my opinion, is one of the all-time greatest games. It makes it onto every Top-whatever list from every major publication, most of the time making it into the top 10. I want a damn remaster/remake.

They won't. Graphics are good enough on it that it won't be as big a leap as RE on PS1 to RE Remake on GC.

We are getting a remake of RE2. I'm guessing RE3, and maybe even RECVX will get the overhaul treatment.

I imagine that it will happen eventually but right now they're busy bringing the older games up to snuff.

I'd be happy if they redid it and just changed one thing. I want to be able to walk and shoot.

I see no reason why it should, call me nostalgic but most 128-bit games I've played hold up nicely.

On one hand, Resident Evil 4 was the last one that I really, really enjoyed, so seeing a remake of it would be very exciting.

But on the other hand, that's probably just me lamenting for the series to be a bit more fun again, than really needing RE4 to be remade. I play plenty of older games without an issue, so I'm sure RE4 would be the same.

my only experience with the game was on pc and i can't remember much it was that long ago apart from the controls being beyond horrendous and even modded it was a f*cker to control. i'd take a new version

I'd be up for that. I already own it on PS2, PS3 and Steam. The PS4/Xbone version is pretty much going to be the Steam version on max settings, unless they're adding anything. The only thing they have left to do is release it on PS1 and SNES.

It doesn't need to be remade. It's already a nearly perfect game.

With REmake you could argue that the original didn't age very well and didn't live up to the creators' original vision, hence REmake, a much richer and expanded game. With RE4, it's pretty much timeless. I recently played through a huge chunk of it and it's still an absolute blast.

Re4 isn't just a good game it's one of the all time best games ,Capcom knows this and will milk it as long as they can. I'm hoping for a new3ds version

Well, if you get it on steam you can use the mod that is updating the texture work.

Im not too bothered about being able to walk and shoot but i wish theyd update the controls to be more like RE5,ie lest stick to move and right to aim.

That would be much better. I've beaten the game a few times, and that is my main complaint is the controls.

I'd rather Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 get some of the Resident Evil Remake touch. Mostly cause RE 4 does not look bad even by today's standard, but also cause those were the two games I enjoyed the most when I was younger.

HD mod already in the works, I think this is the closest we're going to get to a remake. Not complete yet, I think they've just begun work on the island, but the village is available for DL.

Capcom already did a "HD" collection with Veronica and RE4. And it was totally half assed. Especially Veronica which suffered from poor lighting. And the most terrible shooting mechanics of all the RE games I've played. Had so much problems hitting the enemy dogs and others that stay low, as they can only be shot low within 2 inches of you. Causing health loss in a game where every healing spray and herb is critical to finishing the game.

Even the REmake had areas that weren't updated from the Gamecube version. So I'm not counting on Capcom to give RE4 the respect it deserves. After the decent but functional RE4 PS3 port they made and labeled as HD.

Like a lot have mentioned the HD remaster will be out soon and that is that I believe. They are now remaking Resident Evil 2 and hopefully it includes Jill's scenario. Although I hope that RE7 doesn't influence the development of RE2.

I would fall in love if they added the Nemesis campaign to the Remake 2 game, but realistically thinking at best it'll be a huge DLC or a separate game.

Nah, I'm good. They should just remake older games, not games like RE4 which still plays great.

Well duh. I do have hope after Resident Evil 2 that we'll eventually see a complete remake. I think the only issue is that the gameplay in 4 is more modern than Resident Evil 2, and Capcom may decide the improvements wouldn't generate as much interest.
