Hey guys and girls among all ages and blablabla.... What's your favourite RPG game?

Among all games i've ever played.... I think Grandia1 (for PSX and SAT) is the best of all... Even better than Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, etc.

All this years have passed and, i still LOVE that game..

This is only my opinion, forward to see yours :-D

Yes... I don't think so... Grandia's way better FF is a bit repetitive, although it was a very good game

Hm...

It's kind of a huge tie between Final Fantasy VII, Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, and Legend of the Dragoon. All four games were amazing in their own way. If I had to choose one, though, I'd choose Final Fantasy VII or Xenogears...

I can't choose between those two!

3-way tie between FF12, Crisis Core and Dragon Quest 8.

Persona 3 is also pretty high on my list.

This one's been asked quite a lot. You're going to get a flurry of different answers, all dependant upon when the person got into playing RPGs.

I've been at it since around 1989 or 1990 but didn't really get into the thick of the genre until the SNES came around. Barring a long 10-year hiatus from gaming (1996-2006) of course.

Even with the plethoria of RPGs the PSX/PS2 has, I doubt too many of them will come close to the one "I" feel is one of the best around.

I speak specifically of Final Fantasy VI (or III if you wish to go with how it was released Stateside)

I actually bought that one on release week back in late October 1994, but didn't seriously sit down and play it until a couple years later.

It was the last RPG I played through before I took that aformentioned 10-year break from gaming, but now when I look back at it, I couldn't of though of a better way to end that phase in my gaming life....two months of it. That game had lots of memorable moments, characters who had a lot more depth and were more believable than many of today's that follow set stereotypes, a story and world that literally immersed you and didn't let go until you logged some 40 to 60 hours, start to finish.

That's just me though. I personally don't feel there's a 'best' out there. Each game has its thing about them that clicks with people and makes it a memorable playing experience.

I'd love to see a list of the absolute worst RPGs out there in existance. I can easily name a couple.

Its so difficult to narrow it down to just one, so I'll just mention some of my favorites. FFIX, and FFVII are my favorite FF games. Though FFVI/III and V/II were also very good. Chrono Cross/Trigger/Radical Dreamers is definitely the most heartwarming rpg series; and Tales of Phantasia, and Star Ocean I are my favorite rpg's that weren't released in North America (48 Megabits!). Though TOP is now available in NA on the GBA.

Just incase you were wondering, my first RPG was Illusion of Gaia (SNES).

For me there are 3 kinds of RPGs, some may disagree with it but this is just how I classify them.

My favorite 100% turn based is Grandia 2 on Dreamcast.

My favorite RPG with no turns is Tales of Symphonia.

My favorite RPG with a mix of both is Paper Mario on GCN.

The best is the one you say is the best.

For me, i have a couple of them:

*Tales of Symphonia (one of the fewer games that keep me guessing and wake up almost all night)

*FFVIII (i really like the characters and the plot, very epic and romantic, i dont know but is my favorite FF)

*Crono Trigger (what can i say about this game, just awesome)

Amomg some others like FFVII, FFIV, Tales of Phantasia, Super MArio RPG, Pokemon Crystal, etc.

There are so many different RPGs that are "the greatest" in their own way. If you are a true RPG fan then this question is impossible to answer.

I say Ogre Battle 64.... or do strategy RPGs not count??? In that case I will go with Dragon Warrior III (NES) or Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC). At least those are my favorites, maybe not the "best".

the console versions of ultima were a little old and outdated by the time they were launched, but i recomend you play ultima 3, believe it if it werent for ultima 3 there would be no JRPG genre
