It's July 2017, we are halfway done with 2017 and so with that, it's been a great year for games release so far and I enjoy playing some of the new releases of 2017 from January to July 2017. These are my top 5 games I thought were great:

  1. Horizon: Zero Dawn (PS4)
  2. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U)
  3. Injustice 2 (PS4)
  4. Mass Effect: Andromeda (PC)
  5. Persona 5 (PS4)

So gamers, play anything new this year?

From this year, I've played Breath of the Wild.

Everything else released earlier than 2017.

Number one for me has to be DLC of all things, DkSIII: The Ringed City. Such good content, a fitting end, and great bosses/ gear.

Second is Resident Evil 7 despite my dislike for it going first person view, it's still rooted as a Resident Evil game, and I'm a tad bias to a good Survival Horror. I like these games far too much lol.

The next two has been a tough road choosing which is better but third has to be Nioh, just a straight up good Hack n' Slash game that also takes a few ideas from Dark Souls but at heart plays closer to Ninja Gaiden.

Nier: Automata I rank fourth, I really like the game but can't overlook its problems. It's a great game for the most part however so will place it here.

Played some Horizon: Zero Dawn, but wasn't a fan. As for 2017 games I would have to put that in fifth I suppose considering haven't gotten anything else released this year outside of a little Gravity Daze 2, but not enough to rate it (just checked that the disc worked).

So many Switch games I want but feel my patience will be rewarded in waiting. Can't rationally invest in a handheld with two hours of battery life. It's not something I want and a New Switch will come along.

Sonic Mania is also a day one purchase and I have yet to decide if I'll buy it on PS4 or PC? Might have to wait for the reviews say.

@davillain-: Can't see it being as great as something like Owlboy for a good callback to retro gaming, but also can't see it being worse than Shadow of the Beast (remake) or Mighty No.9. So my hype level for Sonic: Mania isn't that high, just want a reasonably good 2D platformer, much like Shantae: 1⁄2.

Horizon, Breath of the Wild, and Resident Evil VII. REVII was AMAZING in Virtual Reality. Totally justified the purchase of the PSVR.

Hmm, it´s strange if you look at single player there has been a bunch of good titles, but when it comes to multiplayer which everone said was the only way gaming should move, there has been absolute nothing so far. It´s the same shit over and over again, Overwatch, COD, Battlefield, just pointless shit.

But i can agree that so far it´s been a ok year.

In no particular order:

Hollow Knight

Nier: Automata

Horizon: Zero Dawn

What Remains of Edith Finch

Resident Evil 7

Indeed, it's been a stellar year for games so far. I've reviewed the first two if you'd like more to go on as well, and have linked them in their titles.
