can Gamecube games be played on the WII??

someone told me that you can play gamecube games on the Wii,is this true?

was gonna purchase Resident evil Zero to play on my Wii if its possble

The Wii is 100% backwards compatable with all Gamecube games. You will need a Gamecube controller and a memmory card (Wii internal memory can not be used).

I'm not sure if it can because the gc discs are small and the wii is able to only read the proper disc size ofits slotcodelyoko2
