As you were...carry on, carry on.
Stopped playing Legend of Heroes III,
A game with no hook,
Its attraction lost on me,
It's story not worth the look.
Started instead with a game from Suda,
It's called "Contact" and has zen like Budda.
Graphics like Earthbound, Though its story is not.
I'm tiring of games with weak-watered plots.
Well, it was mostly a play on the fact that "review" and "two" rhymed, but this seems pretty cool. Bet it doesn't continue for 1,000 posts.
Well, when in Rome...
Imagine my dismay
people mocking my wordplay!
In a place for your current game,
my rhyme seems fairly lame.
:P
Beat Xenogears on Sunday,
I have become convinced it is high art.
A game beautifully put together in every way,
Too bad budget problems and the game's own traditional gameplay almost pulled it apart,
That, and it got off to an awfully slow start.
Still, it may rank as my favorite game,
A statement I make with little shame,
Ocarina of Time may be great,
But Xenogears made me contemplate my own fate.
Only a true masterpiece can make someone stay up all night contemplating.
I have started Prince of Persia: Warrior Within,
The heavy metal soundtrack is essentially a sin.
Other than the sound and characterization, the game is better than Sands of Time,
Gameplay improvements are easy to find,
The platforming aspect of the game really shines.
Long time since I posted
No surprise that I've boasted
Lots of games I have played
Real life is delayed
Given up the ghost
With Dungeon Siege almost
Can't get it to work
Too much does it irk
Been the saviour of France
Medal of Honor gaming expanse
Shot down all my enemies
Those nasty Jerries
Won some beer on a bet
Tomb Raider challenge is met
Fell down lots of holes
Achieving my goals
I've re-started The Witcher
It's now plenty richer
With enhanced edition
Comes fantastic new mission
I've been rather busy of late
So not many games on my plate
But I finished a game
And I don't mind to claim
The action in Demon Stone is great!
Though posting is quite the endeavor
Your rhyming is remarkably clever
If the wordplay gets tricky
Just look up a wiki
OMG this is the Best. Thread. Evar.
I really suck at rhymes
but I'll get with the times.
I am playing fable 2
doing as most 360 users do.
Racking points, whipping butt
man, Fable 2 never gets into a rut.
Contact is over
Metroid Fusion proved too hard
Onto Touch the Dead
(Okay so that didn't rhyme, but is Haiku)
I am playing Star Ocean
So far I have not used many to many Potion
It seems pretty easy
But its not to cheesy
If at last its not to complex
I just might buy the next .....one
Â
So Close!
Fallout 3 is frankly the best
game at play at my nest.
I don't think I'll stop
Till the Behemoths all drop
and then it's a well-deserved rest.
My workbench is busy with making
weapons 'cuz the darn things keep breaking
My bobblehead stand is sadly lean
Just nine more are needed, I mean
before the whole 20 are shaking.
The Enclave are kind enough to impart
Their fancy gear when I tear them apart
Their plasma weapons are kickin'
And their armor takes a good lickin'
But that T-51 suit is high art
Beat Fable 2, went as far as I can go
but what to play next? I don't know
A little bit of Space Chimps, ugh what a bad game
Rock Band 2 is a lot less lame
Going to get with the latest and pop in Gears 2
even though Gears 1 has not been played through
but that's just till Banjo Kazooie comes out
that I will love without a doubt
Â
I won't Rhyme, but I think I have finally detoxed from Fable 2.
I have no idea why the game was so addictive, even when I beat it I kept playing some of the most annoying sidequests ever, yet I kept playing. Now I have my 2.5 million in real estate achievement and I am comfortable in my ability to put the damn controller down. Â
Fallout 3, Dead Space, Gears of War 2, Silent Hill: Homecoming all taunt me from my coffee table, all demanding that they get the attention they deserve,
I then realize that Call of Duty 5 came out yesterday, I am yet to buy Little Big Planet and Disgaea 3 and the much antisipated Last Remnant and DC Vs. MK is due soon.Â
And to top it all off, I sorta want to get End War JUST so I can get the wireless headset.
My week in review is simple, I have spent more time wondering what to play next then actually playing anything. Â
I am not going to rhyme,
because I do not have the time,
so without further ado,
here's my week in review.
-Halo 2 and Mercenaries 2 have been shelved for the time being.
-I'm hooked on Fable II and have been playing Fable II Pub Games on my lunch hours just to lose extra money.
-And just for an RPG breaker, I started playing through Super Mario Kart on my SNES (which is available now that I've found a remote that will switch inputs on my TV).
I soared through the sky
Waiting to die.
Is he ally or foe
Sadly I do not know.
To the man known a "Solo Wing Pixy" it's me.
The demon of the round table.
Beat Space Chimps for 465/1000 gamerscore. The game was meh. An extremely mediocre platformer with some frustrating design choices. It had potential to be much better..
Been playing Cloning Clyde co-op with my wife. Have gotten 5 achievements from that game so far. Great fun. :P
And finally, have been concentrating on beating the very fun adventure The Spiderwick Chronicles. This game has me looking forward to every time I get back into it. Have gotten 25/50 achievements for only 340 gamerscore so far. I guess the bigger achievements come at the end. I believe I only have 1 chapter left to complete the game, and am now going through and working on a bunch of side quests.
Got a bunch of games going right now...
-Fable II: I've finished the story part and have been running around picking up all the gargoyles and keys. I'm also still messing around with the Pub Games to get the expressions and other items necessary to get the completist achievement. Speaking of achievements, if anyone has extra dolls to trade (because I really want that achievement), come find me. I've got plenty of extra Theresa dolls to trade. If you don't know how to get your particular doll, get 2nd prize in the Westcliff shooting range. You can do it as many times as you want...it helps to have extras to trade.
-TNA iMPACT!: Wow...that's a reversal-fest. I think I've figured out why, but it's pretty annoying when you beat a dude silly, only to have him start reversing every single move you put on and rally for the win. I've stopped the story mode and started playing a bunch of exhibition matches so I can get some new moves.
-Lego Star Wars II: I'm almost done with the story mode. Then I'll start doing the free play modes.
-Super Mario Kart: I'm still fiddling with that in between other games.
I haven't posted here in FOREVER but,
My week has been spent on two things: finals, and Warriors games. Can't get enough KOEI Warriors games. Over the past month or so I've bought 9 (yes, NINE) different iterations of the series and have played through all of them except 1. I adore the games, despite their total simplicity and lack of innovation from title to title. Hell, I love them so much, I've actually started reading Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Whoever thought video gaming would turn me onto a 12th century Chinese novel? It's fantastic, too, probably my favorite book ever.
Oh, and I had a brief affair with World of Warcraft, which definetely didn't take, particularly when my roommate abandoned me because I wasn't willing to put 7 hours a day into levelling my character in the middle of finals week. Horrible game anyway.
A little bit of Banjo Kazooie old school along with Meteos Wars.
A lot of Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts. For the life of me I don't see how anyone can say this is a 15 hour game. I think its more like 30-40 hours with all there is to do and explore. Loving it! :D
I recently had a blast from the past while playing through Zelda II: Adventure of Link. This was one of my favorite games as a kid. Thing is, I was playing it on my Wii, off of The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition GameCube disc. It struck me as funny that I was playing a game through two levels of emulation. :Pinkwolf
I have this, disc only and I was wondering how much is it worth?

In the States, probably $15-20; I don't know its value abroad.[QUOTE="FredGoon"][QUOTE="inkwolf"]I recently had a blast from the past while playing through Zelda II: Adventure of Link. Anyway my little rhyme
I like games that are free
Especially on my 360
Dash of Destruction was the game
Getting all the achievements in 15 minutes was pretty lame
At first, VP2 was a chore
Glitches and hangs are really a bore,
but hard-drive installation eased my frustration
and now I enjoy it much more.
gmsnpr
Was that a limerick?

Yep; I thought most of my entries here were limericks until I looked up the strict definition of the form just now. This week has been very unusual for me in that I'm actually playing multiple games at once, which is something I very, very rarely do. The games in question are Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI, and Far Cry Instincts: Predator.
I've been playing SMT: DDS for around a month now. It's good but incredibly grindy, which forces me to not play it that much. I really like the story and concept but it's weirdly paced, the dungeons are overly long and have too many random battles as well as the fact that the bosses are INSANELY difficult unless you know exactly which skills to pack. Not only that, but getting those skills usually requires a ton of grinding. Grind, grind, grind. I try and put 30 or so minutes into this per day, until I get out of the grinding phase and ready to tackle another either secret boss or the final boss to knock this one out. I do, however, plan to play through it again when I'm done in order to tackle what is now a legendarily hard secret boss.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI was borne out of my recent obsession with said book and time period, as well as not having played a really good TBS in a long time. Great game, great fun. Basically unlimited replay value and insanely long campaigns rivalling those of your average RPG if not longer. I'm playing it a lot of the time and really enjoy it, and I'd recommend it to anyone with the patience to play such a game.
Far Cry Instincts: Predator is the first FPS I've played since Half-Life, which I really disliked. However I decided that I needed to play an action game as my gaming time had been dominated by RPGs and platformers like the Sly games or Prince of Persia since that time, so after some research I acquired both the original Far Cry for the PC and Far Cry Instincts: Predator for the 360. After some problems playing Far Cry (I guess my computer can't handle it or something, weird), I started up Instincts: Predator. It's pretty good. I've never been a big fan of this kind of game but they're fun to play in short bursts, which is exactly how I'm treating it. It's also pretty hard although I feel like it's also greatly increasing my proficiency with console FPS's.
Anyway if someone actually reads and comments on this I'd be shocked. I probably just wasted all this time typing but whatever.

I had never played an RotK game before this one, but I love it to death. That may have something to do with having loved the book to death, as well as being an incurable history geek, but I digress. I'm convinced that I wouldn't enjoy it as much had I not read the novel, however. Thwarting Luo Guanzhong's narrative is a major part of the geekish fun for me.
That said, it's still a great TBS and definitely the best game I've played since Xenogears...
-I'm currently 85% through Saints Row 2. I'm cleaning up the side missions which, I've noticed, often have a bizarre difficulty ramp up between levels 5 and 6 (6 is the final one). Once I finish those, it's onto the end of the game and then...
Fallout 3.
I've been told that, once I start Fallout 3, I won't want to play anything else. I'm getting myself ready for that eventuality.
