Hello,

I received an email from Gamespot telling me my post has been deleted due to violation of policy. The email provided no info on what post, just a link to CBS interactive website terms.

I can't see where any of my recent posts have been deleted.

Just curious if this is a glitch, or did I really violate policy.

Thanks for your time.

Given that you don't know which post this is for, would you like the details to be put out into the open?

Or would you prefer to discuss this further over PM?

Please let us know.

Thanks,

verbtex

@verbtex: I'm fine with discussing it here, if that's ok with you.

Thanks.

Yeah that's fine.

Here's the message that was moderated:

Typical liberal. Can't discuss without hurling personal insults.

Sad. Just a sad way to be.

Generalizations like this are not allowed. You are encouraged to argue against the argument, not attack the person.

@verbtex: Thanks for taking the time to look in to this.

If the email notification I received had been more specific, and I had known this was my post that was moderated, I wouldn't have even come here to Ask the Mods for an explanation. I'm a big boy and I am fully aware that I tend to have a political viewpoint that is in the minority on Gamespot Political Gamers, and is counter to the viewpoints put forth by most of the mods who post in those threads.

But, since we have this discussion going, I'll take this opportunity to express my opinion.

Honestly this seems like a bit of biased moderating, given that post #5 (typical that a Trumpette would defend sexual harassment in the workplace.), post #6 (Typical liberal. Thinks women can't take care of themselves.) and post #7 (Goddamn you're an idiot. You didn't go to Trump college, right?) all still stand.

Quite frankly, if the rules, as you described them, i.e. No generalizations and No personal attacks, were evenly and consistently enforced, half the posts on the Political Gamers board would need to be moderated.

I have no need to discuss this further. Like I said, I understand the political dynamic on the PG board, and have little reason to think any further discussion will result in any meeting of the minds as to this moderation's efficacy vis a vie keeping the discussions civil on this forum.

Thanks.

I guess you can lock this.

It appears the mod who took exception to my post isn't going to attempt to explain why my post was mod worthy, but the others were not.

Thanks again for your time Verbtex
