Hey guys. Was on the Bioware forums yesterday when Bioware announced a multiplayer co-op mode for ME3. The mode is called Galaxy at War. In this mode, you can create you own character of any race and go on missions with up to 4 people to help liberate zones and raise the Galaxy Readiness Level, which is essantially a single player feature that guages how ready the galaxy is for the Reaper invasion. The co-op mode can influence the single-player, but it is optional and the optimum results can still be achieved through single player alone.

A few extra details: You can't control shephard or his companions in this mode, you can progress and level up your multi-player characters, and co-op was not the reason ME3 was delayed ( Multi-player is being handled by a different studio than the one making single-player.
Bioware Edmonton= Single player
Bioware Montreal= Multi-player
