Flower is a strange game which may not sound that great, but when it comes down to it, it is surprisingly entertaining
You control the wind blowing a single petal and use the Six-axis (? what ever it's called) to steer this petal into flowers to create a long chain of petals blowing in the wind. In doing so, you will transform grey environments to lush beautiful landscapes. You do have to pen up most of the flowers in an area before teh game will allow you to move on to the next area of the stage. Each level has a unique feel to it, though you are mainly doing the same thing. One has you illuminating a field at night, whilst another has you giving a plain meadow a rainbow like floral make over. Etc.
There really isn't much to say about the core gameplay. You blow flowers around as the wind transforming environments, of which there are only six. They can take a while though, but the game is still over very quickly. Flower is a unique game, for me at least, in the sense that it's true charm isn't from it's game play. i really can't put my finger on it, but the game's poetic almost dream like qualities are what draws me to it. And when things start to go bad in the game, it is genuinely disturbing - if you don't have an unusual fear of electrical pilons, you will do after playing this. But seriously all levels envoke different emotions.
As for the graphics, they are beautiful. There's no other way to word it. The grass looks fantastic and vivid colours are nice. The game is just pure eye candy.
I didn't really notice the music whenever I played this game. But I do know it captures the mood of the environments. But I never payed too much attention to it, so I won't comment
The controls actually take some getting used to. At first it feels quite stiff and trying to turn can be a bit awkward at times. But it doesn't take too long to master.
So Flower has; extremely simple, but surprisngly good and thearaputic gameplay, in environments which really do envoke emotions. Overall the experience is dream like and beautiful. I have no idea how something so simple, can actually be quite touching. It may not sound too great, but when you play it, you will see why the game is liked so much. I recommend downloading it if you can.
