If you like fantasy books and a good challenge to your brains, then this is your game.

User Rating: 9.5 | Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn WII
Fire Emblem it's an old Nintendo Franchise , it was created in 1990 for Famicom and I have to say that since then the game remained almost the same, which is definitely not a bad a thing, au contraire, this is exactly what makes the game great. And now after had traveled through the Famicom, Super Famicom, GBA , DS and GameCube the games finally comes to Wii as direct sequence to the Game Cube game Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, which by the way I totally recommend you to play, because it will help you a lot to understand the game mechanics, will make it easier for you to follow the story and it will give you a nice boost with the game because it will carry your character stats to Wii via memory card.
So the series finally came to the Wii, but don't be fooled as I said before the game keeps true to it's original formula and it won't be use any fancy control scheme that most wii games uses instead of that you get a very simple control scheme that is identical to the Game Cube and although you can use the Wii Remote to play the game I strongly recommend, that if you own a Game Cube controller, use it. It is more comfortable and does the job perfectly.
As mentioned before Fire Emblem is a direct sequence to Path of Radiance but even i you didn't played the game you won't be completely lost in the game, as you will get many conversations, narratives, reintroductions and even some backstory in order for you to catch-up.
Like all the games on the series Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn focus a lot in the story, you will be reading a lot in this game some times it will look like a digital interactive book and that is a good thing because it give s a lot of details to the story and the dialogs makes you see the different personalities of many game's character.
I won't give any details about the story because as stated before the game has a heavy focus on it and I really don't want to spoil it since great part of the fun is in the story but rest assured this epic journey is nicely written and will keep you interested and always wanting to know what comes next.
The gameplay couldn't be more simple the scenario is basically a big grid, like a chess board, where you move your limited amount of characters where you think that makes more sense, each of these characters has a class and uses different kinds of weapons which results in a big variety of approaches and strategies. Be advised take care of your characters because if they die they are gone for the rest of the game, yes you won't be able to use it anymore and all the effort that you putted on the character is gone. Some people as the GAME SPOT reviewer thinks that the game it's to difficult , I couldn't disagree more. I won't say that the games is easy because it is not but it is an strategy game and and a big part of the fun consists on the challenge if the game were easy and forgiven there would be no point at playing it, it would be a better option to make an anime or manga.
I've heard many critics about the game's graphics and although I can clearly see their point I do not agree with them. From my point of view Fire Emblem it's one of those games that don't need gimmick tricks or beautiful graphics it's true essence is the strategy, story and flawless mechanics but that doesn't mean that fire Emblem is an ugly game, the art is very beautiful and interesting while the CG cut scenes, while short, are very well done and does a great job at giving the game some dramatic scenes when necessary.
For those looking for a challenging strategy game Fire Emblem is your game. Combining a refined formula, with compelling story and literally a thousand of possible combination for your team Fire Emblem proves to be the ultimate strategy game of this generation easily beating games like Vakyria Chronicles and claiming it's rightful place as the king of this genre. But it's always good to reiterate that this is game meant for hardcore players not for those looking for an easy and unsophisticated experience.
