Fire Emblem Awakening s a turn-based strategy game. It has many role-playing aspects to it as the characters in the army you control level up and need to be equipped with weapons and spells and stuff. At the start of the game you get to choose your difficulty-level and if you want your characters to stay dead if they fall in battle. A friend of mine finished the game after a mere 36 hours. Me, it took over a 100. I could easily spend anothr 100 hours on it if i wanted to finish all the DLC. The DLC goes from challenging to extremely hard and if you want to finish it all you really need the best of the best characters. Ofcourse you can also focus on the main storyline, finish the game on easy and enjoy the story and lovely visuals. you'll have a good time either way, but be warned this game can be very time-consuming.
on a side note -minor spoiler alert- there is a scene where a character commits suicide by jumping of a cliff. This is regarded a a noble thing. 15 years ago, this would have been a big thing, but i hven't heard any controversy on it. i guess times are changing.
