Very shotty defending, not quite the game I expected. I liked it at first but am getting aggravated
I was excited to buy my first FIFA game since 2004. I am not impressed as I first was. The defending is pretty bad, and I don't even play on a difficult setting, only semi-pro. The tackling is awful and trying to clear a cross is terrible. The offense almost always wins the header just about, even when I am on offense I complete most of my crosses. That just is not realistic.
I also hate how when you do complete a tackle, but you are not quite sure you actually have the ball and try to tackle again to be sure, you end up passing or hitting the ball unintentionally.
The automatic player switching is HORRIBLE. When your player is trying to catch up to someone it changes the guy automatically and rapidly, so now you have 2 guys out of position. When the AI passes the ball it is almost an instant switch which you are not ready for, which pisses me off so much.
The game also lacks just a regular franchise mode which I love, call me old fashioned. The regular season mode or tournament mode is o.k.. but it lacks many of the features in career mode. I do not quite like career mode because as a player you cannot manage your team. As a manager you cannot play a lot of games for whatever reason. It is just too much. I like a franchise mode to be just like it would be in Madden or something, you just play as the team you like while managing the team in game and off the pitch,
