A great start for TBS games on the PSP

User Rating: 9.4 | Field Commander PSP
Many people compare the game to Advance Wars. Two things: One, Advance Wars was a remake of previous TBS games, so shut up about FC being a remake, all games do that, why change something that is already good? Two: You just have to play it to see the differences, they are indeed a like in many aspects, but unique in it's own way.

The voice acting is amazing, only a few minor problems. In Generation of Chaos, there was lag while talking and the words went off-synch with the acting. In FC...it is an improvement, but still issues: They load the voice acting all at once so there is a 0-5 second delay which can get annoying.

The graphics are amazing for this type of a game. 3-D in every possible way, great detail, and, as said, just plain amazing.

The learning curve is short, and any old Advance Wars player will get the hang of it instantly. The game mechanics are great, a grunt wont glitch up and kill a tank with one shot.

Overall, the gameplay is superb, and vey enjoyable. So far, I have gone through the training, and about 10 campaign missions. I have yet to go infustructure, but I expect it to be all it's cracked up to be. It should add some great replay value to the game.

Lag: There is a little but here and there, but none to take away from the gameplay/

Final Note: Most people wont like this: The AI loads it's move almost every turn. There is a plus side to this and a minus: Plus: THE AI IS ACTUALLY PICKING THE BEST MOVE TO RETALIATE AGAINST YOU! The minus: The load time per move is annoying. It wont take away from the gameplay, and you CERTAINLY wont have this issue online.
