Umm.....am I missing something here? Are we all talking about the same game here? Hmmm...

User Rating: 7.5 | Fallout: New Vegas PC
**EDIT** The below written review was posted 1 day ago - and already so many people disagree with my comment (and everybody's comment who actually notes the shortcomings of this game), that I am seriously thinking it's being trolled to give any and all unfavourable reviews the thumbs down. Seriously, this game is not perfect - why are so so SO many people disagreeing with anyone who's not giving this game a 10 or a 9?!!! Something is off.....something smells really bad to me....

I've played about 12 hours so far, so, it's rather premature to write a review, but I think I'm passed the first-impressions stage, so it's safe to put pen to paper, in a manner of speaking, and share my opinion of this game. I am a little shocked by the 10s and 9s this game is getting. Are we all reviewing the same game here? Fallout: New Vegas??? Really? There are those of you out there who think this game is a perfect 10? Just think of the games that are overwhelmingly considered to be 'perfect' (and a few come to mind), and now think of this game. Do you still think it's perfect? Let's look at the facts. The game engine is old - and still performs like it did on day one - I would have expected the engine to be finetuned so much that it'd be butter smooth all-around. No matter that the graphics haven't been updated at all (apparently they have been, but I can't really see any improvement visually), but the fact that the game has horrible framerate issues running on a quad-core CPU, a GTX460 1GB at 800mhz and 8GB of system RAM, installed on an SSD drive is a joke. The textrures, colours, lighting, everything is the same as in Fallout 3! This game feels like a huge expansion, but an expansion nonetheless. The official reivew here mentions something about more complexity to its gameplay mechanics, but what does that even mean? How does this game feel any different from Fallout 3? The thing is that this game is fun - a lot of fun, and the bugs don't really cripple the game, though they sure make it very ugly at times (!), but honestly, it's a shame that people are being so forgiving that they would rate a game perfect even when the developer throws out the same engine (without refining it), same weapons, same outfits, exact same dialouge mechanics, identical textures/lighting, having the same 5 songs loop over and over again (if I hear Johnny Guitar one more time....though the song has grown on me lol), and basically presenting nothing really new except for the plot which, as has been noted, doesn't set any records either. So, I still give the game 7.5 because it is a good game - but the stuff I mention here are worth mentioning and hopefully you won't bash me for my review. Ciao!
