After a long wait for a new F1 Game, this is a Good Attempt that is a base for future editions! Codemasters - Great Job.
The Cars Details are top notch, all the details on the steering wheel and beyond the track for example. The Damage Model, much better than any other F1 Game. When the Track goes from Wet to Dry or Vice Versa it is amazing, the detail into the weather system shows here.
Multiplayer - 7/10
Online Play is great, but you always seem to get a player that thinks he is playing Mario Kart and tries to take you out at the first corner, and if you pull a move on him/her, they just turn into you. There is no Split Screen Mulitplayer, but this will be in the new one, which I am excited about, they ran out of time to implement this in the 2010 edition.
Gameplay - 9/10
Great, the a proper sim of F1, the way the cars handle on different settings such as low downforce and high downforce, you can actually feel the difference. The opposition are tricky to (Play on Expert) it is a real challenge. Although it is only a 9 due to some of the bugs that appear, that are also to be removed in the new F1 game. Pit Stops, the Pit Crew are too hesistant to release you, so you need to have a good gap, or you end up spending 15 secs waiting for cars to go by. Some Cars do not pit on the odd occasion in races. The media and press conferences are a nice little welcome into the game, which previous games never had.
Trophies - 7/10
Good, not one for Trophy Hoarders, but a good challenge currently on 79%, it requires a lot of gameplay, you normally get bored with career mode due to the opposition not being good enough, and then turn to online only to find out its hard because you keep getting rammed off the track.
In all a good go at the world of F1, A few flaws but is a good base for future games, a raft of updates planned, which will turn this 8.5 rating into a 10 on F1 2011.
