This game, although not a hardcore simulator, will knock your socks off! This version of F1 is so immersive that I actually finished a full 57 minute long practice session. I have never in my life done that on any racing game to date. The cars all look so good and the environments do as well. And the sounds of those V-8's winding down the straights is music-to-my-ears! You really need to have a surround system to fully appreciate this game. In 3rd person view you can see subtle flame come out from the pipes while shifting. It's a small nuance but adds realism. And the cockpit view is amazing. You can move your head around too. The HUD is fully customizable as to what you want to see. The animations are very fluid and life like. For example when you hit the pit limiter or adjust your wing while driving the character animates to the correct button or knob on the steering wheel! Why couldn't Moto GP 09/10 have this much attention to detail?
The only down side I can find are the load times for the game to boot up and the fact that you HAVE to use Window's Live. You can't just use Steam and connect with friends. Also there is no 'quick race' feature,...that I have seen anyway. There is a hot lap selection with leader boards!
This game will keep you coming back for more and more.
