Not just an amazing racing game, but just a great game in general.

This game was the first video game I ever bought with my own money. It was $50 at Wal-Mart after Christmas one year and my brother bought the SNES, so I decided to buy this just because. That was some of the best $50 I've ever spent on video games. We got home and played Super Mario Bros for a few hours and then switched to F-Zero. It took me a long time to ever switch back to another game. F-Zero is an incredible racing game with great looking graphics and very fun levels. The game has a 3D look to it, and it feels very fast. You don't feel like you're traveling slow or at a medium pace. You fee like you're flying. The music and sound in the game are fun and works with the game. My favorite music was for Big Blue. I heard some metal band at one point cover it. It's really solid music even if the midi's don't sound great today. The tracks, the cars, and the general gameplay of the game are amazing. The tracks are varied and there really are a ton in this game, especially for a SNES game. And different tracks have different physics. There is a track that is just a simple loop, but there is a wind physic on that track that makes it so much more difficult. And there are four cars, but each car looks and handles different and they all have their own strengths and weaknesses. The controls on the game are spot on and it is difficult to not grasp them. In all if you're looking for a classic racing game, you can't go wrong with F-Zero. The later version on the N64 and even the SNES F-Zero 2 are very well done too, but nothing really compares to the original.
