idc who you are. 2k5 is THE game to have.
since the nfl 2k franchise was discontinued EA sports has monopolized the football genre. its the only real option for fans who dont want a arcade(y?)
experience. its been a downhill slide for triburon and its rivalry with the strong 2k franchise resulted in some quality madden titles. it probably peaked at 04. but thats beside the point. the bottom line here is that the on the field experience on a football game has never been so tight and manageable. fantastic control schemes allow for the big hits and unbelieveable jukes. The "Crib" adds even more depth to a perfectly refined and thought out on field experience, allowing for users to earn franchise, game, user, and player trophies. most of these are well thought out and truly test your skills. the ability to go head to head with carmen electra and steve-o is great too (there are other celebs to play mind you.). being able to fully customise your crib sounds gimmicky at 1st but is actually pretty cool. the playlist for this game is also fantastic. The rock songs are eh, but the rap and hip hop are phenomenal. theres even some lounge ambient! all of this is just a sliver of reasons to play the game. franchise mode allows for full team control. but if your not a fan of offseason accusitions and trades you can role the dice and let the game do it, but dont be suprised if your team sucks. the difficulty level is mid range but legend is a **** it basically could turn the cardinals into the nfc pro bowl team and they will rape you if your not careful. (thats the worst team too... try playing the patriots or chiefs =o) bottom line. its the quintessence of football games. a must have for nfl fans
