Nice to look at, not to play.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet and If anyone has anything to say on why I've said it sure go ahead and comment and I'll get back to you.

The goods to this game is obvious the authenticity all the licenses (tapout, reebok etc.) its material that doesn't matter but does at the same time so good on EA for working on that, the graphics are good I can't complain the roster of fighters is stacked there is absolute LOADS of fighters on this game they've put hard work in on that side its got a good music selection and they've tried to add in new things for example you can take an actual UFC fighter into your own career mode and level that fighter up as you see fit.

*Edit*

Almost forgot this the physics on how fighters react to being hit is a very nice little thing it can be finicky but I like it.

Okay that's it, that's where it end on me praising it.

Here are all the negatives to this game -

  • Frame-rate its not good lets not pretend that you can't notice the difference between 30 and 60 fps and this game most certainly isn't running at 60, the game because of this horrible cap on the frame-rate it just appears very slow you will get moments that you notice stutters not sure of the right word to describe it perhaps screen tear so yes this is a big hit on the game. With it being a fighting game that requires quick reaction and decision making 30 fps isn't anywhere good enough!
  • Career mode is the same (unchanged) old boring crap yes they added minor things to it and yes very minor nothing that you'd not entirely notice. Its just very unfortunate to explain it just imagine UFC 1 from EA and think of something worse than that and that pretty much sums up UFC 2 the mini-games to level up your characters stats are monotonous and it takes too long to level certain things up that and some of the certain tasks are quite frankly near impossible to do because of the terrible frame-rate and the CPU unwillingness to actually throw punches and I'm talking about the defense drill when you have to dodge, parry and block punches so yes that can be frustrating.
  • Fighting feels gimmicky it forces you to fight in a manner by this I mean the 'significant strikes' If you want to fight like a real UFC fighter would do then forget buying this game you need to throw 360 back fist punches, head kicks and spamming leg kicks this is your key to winning fights in this game, it has nothing to do with controlling distance so a taller fighter could poke the jab off on someones face and do massive damage from it but the way this game works (its broken) it will ignore those shots and amplify a leg kick or one of those show off punches tenfold so you could land 50 plus more punches on someone but because you didn't land as many show off strikes you will see yourself losing and this is absolutely the wrong way to judge a fight.Carrying on further with what is wrong with the game is that they have got rid of the running button (I believe they have) this is another thing which dictates how you fight you will notice If you want to be an outside fighter that when you've moving on the back foot the guy trying to cut distance will move much quicker than you, this is not acceptable for a game that is suppose to be representing a fighting game.
  • Judging in the game is broke
  • Micro-transactions are now in full swing for this game with what made games like Fifa less entertaining NOW UFC is getting its very own version of Ultimate Team so like I was saying earlier career mode being untouched this will very sadly carry on to be the case If this disgusting greedy money grabbing tactic of EA works for this game.
  • Fights feel like rock-em-sock-em robot fights I already went over this but the way the game is it just forces this type of thing and sadly there isn't much that can be done about it.

So yeah there you go that's about as much I can think of with whats wrong with this game, it had a lot of promise but sadly they've decided to take a more casual approach opposed to creating a game which requires a bit of a steep learning curve.
