One of, if not the greatest Dragon Game ever!

User Rating: 10 | Drakan: The Ancients' Gates PS2
I first heard about DtAG from a special that was on TV in 2000. I didn't play the first game until after I'd finished this one but I can safely say that you don't need to play them in order to appreciate them.

Drakan stars Rin, a woman who is soul bound to the Dragon Arokh. In other words, if she feels pain Arokh feels it too and vice-versa. Drakan is all about Rin trying to stop the Desert Lords and their leader Jasaad (or however its spelled) who wish...well what do you think? TO RULE THE WORLD!! And Rin now needs to embark on a big quest to help Arokh open some gates to let the queen of dragons back into the world so she can set everything strait. But that doesn't really matter, soon into the game you'll forget that the game has a cliche' story and get into the game even more. You'll go from Island to Island fighting monsters like Wartocks and Giant Spiders. You'll fight bosses like a twin headed lightning dragon and a pair of acid shooting dragons, and even more. The game features a good selection of weapons and armor, while not as extensive as other games like it. Some of the Swords and Bows you need to find in the wild frontier of the main island. Rin isn't the only one to get more weapons, Arokh can get different breath attacks from defeated flying bosses. Like Lightning Breath, Acid Breath, and flame burst breath. I myself no longer own the game but I wish I still did, if you like Dragons or adventure games then this is right up your alley.
