Dragon ball Z: Budokai is a cool fighting game with a great fighting system.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai has great fighting system, simple, but awesome. With a few, short button combinations you can launch ultimate and deadly moves from the Dragon Ball Z universe like Big bang attack, Kamekameha, Sprit bomb etc. you can also go through several transformations this way, by pressing 2 or 3 buttons like Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2 etc. I think that the most appealing thing in this fighting system is the edit skills option. Here you can customize the skills that you want your characters to use during battles using Skill Capsules. You can buy skill from Mr. Popo or get in the story mode. This skill capsules are the moves you use for a specific character. Each character has its own set of skills; you have to unlock all them in order to use them in your character. You have 7 slots to put all the skills you want. Each skill takes more space than others; For example the Kamehameha skill requires 1 slot, but the Senzu Bean 8. Skill Capsules vary from rarity. It goes like this: Common—uncommon—rare—super rare. The more rare they are the harder to get they become.
This game has some excellent graphics. The characters look superb; the stages don’t look bad either.
The story mode is quite good but a bit confusing. The story mode is basically a series of fights followed by some cool looking cut scenes. The bad thing is that in the cut scenes there are some facts that are badly interpreted that only a real DBZ fan could notice. The story of this game is the same as the Dragon Ball Z TV show’s story from the Saiyan Saga to the Android Saga.
This game features 2 more game modes: the tournament and Hercule’s mode. The tournament is a series of matches in the DBZ tournament. In which if you win you can get some cash. There are 3 types of difficulty: Novice—Adept—Advanced. Each one is harder and and gives ore cash than the previous.
Finally Hercule’s mode is a survival that tells the “real story about how cell was defeated” in which you must use the weakest character in the DBZ universe (Although in this game his is quite powerful if properly customized. There is no reward for beating this mode in all difficulties (Novice—Adept—Advanced) so it is a loss of time, but you can use to practice if you lo to use this character.
I think that Dragon Ball Z: Budokai it is a great choice for DBZ fans and fighting game lovers.
