I have yet to play that one truly amazing next-gen Dragon Ball game, but this one is decent enough.

User Rating: 6.5 | Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 X360
I wasn't a huge fan of the first Raging Blast and I expressed scepticism towards this sequel, which looked like more of the same with new characters thrown into the mix as the main selling point. I've now played it for quite some time, and while it is an improvement in some ways, I'm still waiting for that one next-gen Dragon Ball game that'll really blow me away. Let's start with the gameplay, it's improved with a better, more dynamic camera, not perfect but a heck of a lot better than the one in the first RB, it doesn't get stuck so easily. Attacks are easier to connect with the enemy, again, some minor issues are present. The stages are cool, but only 4, yes, that's 4, FOUR new arenas. The Glacier one is awesome at least, I like the Super Android 13 movie, underrated entry in the series, so this one was cool to fight in. Battles are fun, furious and give you that Dragon Ball Z feeling, however, just like in all the Dragon Ball games for the 360, repetition starts kicking in, so why, of why, is the Galaxy Mode so excruciatingly long? No story mode, just a string of random battles, some connected to the events that took place in the series. You have to go through this mundane task to collect all the characters and stages in the game, and there are many characters in the game, which is good, don't get me wrong, but it became a chore going through the Galaxy Mode fairly soon, Battle Mode is here as well, and Versus and Online and all that standard stuff. Some challenges are unbeliavably frustrating, like fighting against a powerful enemy and if you get hit once you lose, or settling a fight before Raging Soul ends against an enemy that heals himself constantly, these were agravating to go through, and you don't need to go through most of these and get "Gold" unless you want 100% in Galaxy Mode, however I eventually discovered that you can use certain items that make these missions a lot easier, wish I knew about and got them sooner, but oh well.

So it IS more of the same, only improved somewhat, but I must applaud them for including the little known, little seen OVA "Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans", this is a remake with improved animation, cutting out all the unnecessary stuff, and it's great fun to watch, no English dub, not that I care, at all, but that's something you may want to keep in mind if you are a fan of the Funimation voices, which provide the dub for the game at least. I wish, again, that certain characters were present, even if I had to spend even more time in Galaxy Mode, I wanted to see some GT characters, like Baby, the Shadow Dragons or Pan. But I understand, they only want to give us so many characters at a time, got to keep adding new stuff for the future releases. The game looks nice and the voices are great, the japanese at least, the music is generic and not very good, the main theme is pretty cool though, I know everyvbody's already said this, but: "Laughing Cow, Punching Cow". Gotta love it. Very cool opening cutscene, wish there were more. I don't know about you, but I encountered a strange possible bug or something that kept happening, after every seventh boss batle you get 7 Dragon Balls, after which the game wouldn't let me play anymore battles in Galaxy Mode until I did the whole Shenron thing, but after collecting all the Dragon Balls, and getting all the wishes and not being able to get anymore, it would still lock and not enable me to select any challenges until I return to the main menu and then go back into Galaxy Mode, strange indeed. Anyway, you love Dragon Ball, check it out, if nothing more, then for the OVA at least.
