Oh well...It's not like I expected anything great in the first place.

User Rating: 6 | Dragon Ball Final Bout PS
The DB fan I am,I decided to review this old game for the PS1.
Graphics:7/10 Ok,I know this was released like 14 years ago,but I expected something at least a tiny little better.First off,the mode select screen. It looks like a sculpture of some sort and so does the character select screen. The characters look like badly made action figures or something, but considering the game came out during the PS1 era, perhaps it is not only forgivable, but also kinda good. There are too many PS1 games with better graphics though. The characters animation is surprisingly good. The stages...they look bad. Some of them look like huge landscapes with nothing but grass,or vast parimeters of concrete floor...They don't suck, but they are just NOT good...Well,maybe they do suck. They could have done a much better job with the stages. What looks really good, are the energy blasts.Only one complaint here:Why is Goku's "kamehameha" yellow on every form apart from Super Saiyan 4? This is something that was also done incorrectly in the first Budokai game for the PS2 and GC.

Sound/Soundtrack:7.0/10 Not many tracks.Only a few of them are good but the rest shouldn't even be there. They make the game even worse. At least the soundtrack kinda fits the fighting.
Now one weird thing about the sound is that the characters talk english before battle, but when they fight they talk japanese...

Gameplay:6.5/10 Honestly,I expected more. The fighting in this game is too slow paced to be taken seriously. The combat is just...slow.The characters' movement is so slow (they are walking while fighting!) that it might be preferable to use jumps to get close to your opponents. The movesets though, are decent. Each character has their own special moves and energy blasts as well as pros and cons. The is a good number of options of wat to do in a fight. You can punch, kick, fire energy blasts, charge your ki,guard and fly anytime. There are two things this game has and can't be found in any other DBZ game. These are the Smash meteor and the Demo move systems.Smash meteors are combos that players can do to catch opponents of guard. They may look cool at firstbut they are annoying,to do and even more annoying to dodge when your opponent successfully lands them. The CPU is good at dodging yours and even better at chaining their own. The Demo moves are just slow motion scenes that show you or your opponent fire energy waves and give the other a chance to guard or counter with different waves. They are fun,but they interrupt the flow of the battle. These two systems can be turned on and off at the options menu. Also, spamming attacks over and over again may not be such a bad idea since it works just fine with some characters.
Replayability:3/10 Only nostalgia will bring you back to this game,as there are way better dragonball and non dragonball games out there. If you get this game, you will probably get bored of it after 5,best case scenario,10 hours of gaming.

Content: Let's see: Battle: Classic arcade mode. You fight a series of opponents until you face Super Baby(scary name!!)
Tournament: Two player mode
Build up:The only reason you will play this game for more than two hours. You fight opponents and strengthen your character(in many ways) as go.You strengthen each move independently.
Options: Typical options...but I just have one question:Why is there a Training more IN the Options.Might as well make it a separate mode.
There are very few options and the result of that is you getting bored.

Characters: 6/10 There's a slightly good list of characters. But why did I give it a 6 then? Because having 6 different versions of goku (7 counting Veggeto) in ONE game is annoying!

Overall:6/10 This game could have been so much more. It's a pitty that it's slow paced fighting and lack of modes keep it back from being a great game.
