This can be a tough sell, even for $5.

User Rating: 4.6 | Donkey Kong Jr. NES
With the Wii's virtual console offering tons of titles, it can be hard to fidn the gems among the garbage. Donkey Kong Jr. nay have been good for its time, but in todays world, it is so out dated that even for $5, it can at times seem like a rip off.

Mario has kidnapped your father, Donkey Kong, and so it is up to you to save him. There are 4 screens n the game. The first 3 require you to go from the bottom of the screen to the top, where Mario and Donkey Kong are. The 4th requires you to push keys up into their holes. In each level, you have to avoid enemies that crawl and fly, and do some platform jumping to be succesful.

The limited number of screens is disapointing, even for a 20 year old game. Once you clear all 4, the game starts again, only there are a few more enemies to make it a bit harder.

This is what you would expect from an NES game in terms of graphics and sound. The graphics are very simple, but are clear enough. The sound is limited, with some very short tunes the repeat themselves very quickly.

But none of this is to say that DK JR. is a bad game. It is fun for a while, but it does get repetitive very quickly. If this was packaged with a couple other games, it would be worth it. But as a stand alone title, this is to be approached with caution. There are probably better games for you to spend your Wii Points on.
