A Final Fantasy game unlike no other.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy doesn't have the same genre as the classic Final Fantasy games. This isn't at all an RPG. This is simply a fun and exciting fighting game. There's so much here that a Final Fantasy fan would love, with all the memorable characters from the series returning to battle it out, and the music and battle stages should also be a highlight.

The goddess of Harmony, Cosmos, gathers a team of heroes, while Chaos, the god of discord, has his team of villains. The two gods send their followers to war, and there's not much from then on. The story is quite silly. It's really just about the Final Fantasy heroes searching for their crystals, that will help to defeat Chaos. The thing about the story is that it feels like Kingdom Hearts. It feels very childish, and there's not a touch of drama or anything like that - Final Fantasy games usually succeed in doing this.
However, the characters stand out here. It's great to see all our favourite heroes and bad guys from all the Final Fantasy games returning to fight against each other. The characters from the older games - FF1,2,3 4,5,and 6 - have been given a new modern and 3D look, and they're awesome. We get the characters from FF7,8,9,and 10, and they're fantastic to use. A highlight for me was using the characters from Final Fantasy 8 - Squall and Ultimecia. Ulitmecia is a beast! Anyways, there are 20 characters in total, so you only get 2 characters from each Final Fantasy game. I would've liked a bit more - maybe throw in Tifa from FF7 or Zell from FF8, but overall, I think fans will have a blast with the characters they get to use. Using Cloud to fight Sephiroth with his theme One Winged Angel playing is an epic experience!

The graphics of the game are amazing. The whole thing just looks spectacular. It really is a good looking game. The battle stages are so detailed, and the fighting itself has some flashy visuals that look awesome. Speaking of the fighting, the battle system of Dissidia works really well. When fighting an opponent, you bravery points to take down a bit of their HP. The amount of Bravery points you have equals the amount of HP you take down your HP attack. To get bravery points, you must use a bravery attack on your opponent. They don't lose any health, but you steal their Bravery from them. So, that's really what the fighting is about. The variety of attacks you can use is fantastic - you get to use classic attacks like Omnislash and Blasting Zone. At times, the camera may get a bit annoying, especially if you're fighting in a stage with ceilings.
Multiplayer in the game is quite simple, but still loads of fun. You can have a wireless battle with a friend, and it's heaps more fun.

The game has some minor flaws, with the story, and also some of the voice acting, but overall, Dissidia: Final Fantasy is worth it. You'll never be bored of it. You can play as your favourite Final Fantasy hero - or villain. Mine's Ultimecia, I had blast using her to take down Tidus. So, if you're a fan of the Final Fantasy series, this is a game worth playing.
