Intro

Dirt 2 is the sequel to dirt (2007) and it has a lot to improve on, so how does it hold up in 2009, Well read to find out.

Gameplay

The main complaint with Dirt was the floaty physics of the cars, The good news is Dirt 2 has a better feel for the cars, but the cars still float and worst still the cars can handle in such an odd way that applying to much power can spin the car off the track in a very inconvincing manner, It's not a terrible flaw, but it somehow ruins the improved physics. The best improvment are the brakes. In Dirt 1 cars could stop far too easily, So in Dirt 2 you can now feather the brake so that the car feels like a car and not some radio controlled car that can stop instantly with one touch of the brakes.

Career

Dirt 2 has a big career to play through with tons of different events such as Baja, rally, X games etc etc. All these events have different tracks to race on so your never short on variety, In short the career is fantastic to play through and will take a while depending on your difficulty setting.

Damage

Dirt 2 has the same fantastic damage. You can Roll your car or completely destroy it, Overall it's still very good.

Graphics

Dirt 2 looks incredible, The scenery, The tracks, The cars, Everything looks stunning, It's clear codies experience with the 360/PS3 has paid off for the sequel.

Multiplayer

Dirt 2 has 8 player MP racing, It's pretty much the same as the SP, but your racing other people and it's fun, but not very compelling.

Verdict

Dirt 2 has improved very much, But there is still some handling tweaks that needed to be sorted, But in the end this is a Great off road racing game.
