''Pure Magic'' , I certainly don't give the rating 10.0 often, but this one is fitting of the perfect title.
So as you probably know (if you played this), in the first 5 minutes of the game you are able to see what are you dealing with, the graphics, the entire physics system, the design, background, everything that eye can catch in this game is perfect. I know the graphics is not the most important thing in a game, for example, a good soundtrack is always ahead of graphics if you ask for my opinion (which I suppose u do, while reading this), but when it comes to DC2 it really has everything, so the soundtrack surely keeps the same pace with perfect rating that graphics deserves, already that is a true rarity.
Story begins as you (Dylan) and the main hero from the first game (Regina), come back in time to rescue a survivors of a catastrophe which was caused by further goverment research of 'Third Energy' even after all the trouble we went by catching that weird but geniuos Dr. Kirk. After you arrive to another time, "or jungle from another world" as Dylan godlike-superbly says at the beginning, things wont go as easy as planned, so there is a lot of interesting things waiting for you in this short but high quality and deep story.
While moving throughout the game you will face many various beasts, and just wont belive to your own eyes that this is PS1 youre playing on. It is all combined with this simply beautiful soundtrack that perfectly (yes again perfectly) tracks you, the moment it is calm but then a bit nervous music and guess what ? A powerbomb, when something happens the music always changes in an unique way, to fit every situation.
About the lenght of game, well as I said before its short but it gets to the deal really quick so there is no much fooling around here.
I dont want to say too much so I dont spoil the game for those who still havent played this gem in all this years, and I belive i said enough for those who already played it. What I actually wanted to say from the beginning is that in those very moment when PS1 was slowly dying away, and some nooby gamers didnt want to play anthing else but PC or PS2 at the time, this game came out like a bomb and prooved to everyone that PS1 was way too early abandomed, that year 2001 when Sony (like a biotch) kicked out his own PS1 the same day when PS2 came out (just to sell it better), was a mistake, the PS1 has something more to show , and that was Dino Crisis 2. So you see that is why this game deserves more tens then it can possibly get, not only that it deserves 10 cause it does, but it deserves another 10 by showing us the hidden potentials of PS1 console after everyone thought we saw it all, I couldn't belive it, but DC2 has the same FMV quality as the PS2 games, and I've never seen a PS1 game that equals PS2 in FMVs, magic like i said.
This game is actually so good , that I still don't belive how it didn't got a movie based on it. Must play for everyone who every possesed a PS1 console or was interested in console gaming.
