The arcade classic is back in it's true form, but it only serves as a fun diversion from other games.

Dig Dug is a classic arcade game from Namco, now known as Namco Bandai Games. Basically, it's very similar to Pac-Man except it's a bit more challenging. You start digging tunnels underground and have to get rid of all of the enemies around you. They are usually stuck until you make a pathway that frees them, but they can "ghost" over to you if you take too long. One major difference here is that enemies can be killed. You chuck your harpoon at them, then blow them up like a balloon until they explode. Sounds easy right, well there's more. There are rocks scattered thoughout the level, which can be used to splatter one or more enemies. You simply have to dig a tunnel underneath one and hope that some enemies will follow you onto it's path. Along the way, you collect veggies that are bonus points. The achievements are pretty easy to get, but they do take some dedication. The visuals and sound effects are well done recreations of the classic arcade game's, but slightly advanced for the 360. It's a cheep game at 400 M$ points, and worth checking out if you want another classic arcade game. As far as rough spots, the control scheme can cause you to not go where you want to go on occasion and the game isn't exactly one you'll want to play for hours and hours on end, and you can very quickly get all of the achievements points in one sitting if you tried. Overall, it's a decent arcade game that is fun to play, but a bit to easy.

Gameplay: Solidly enjoyable, but get's old pretty quickly and is really easy to get all of the achievements in one sitting.

Graphics: Old school, but enhanced for 360.

Sound: Again, old school, but it sounds good for an old arcade game.

Value: It costs 400M$ points and it offers an easy 200 achievement points, but it's too easy to get them and it does get old after a while.

Final Thoughts: If you like the game or want some easy achievements, pick this game up. There are lots of better arcade games out there, though.
