Deus Ex Invisible War is a good purchase for Xbox, but fans of the original may be disappointed by some of the changes

If anyone had the PS2 or PC version of the original Deus Ex, then Deus Ex: Invisible War may be very exciting or very boring. For the vast majority of people, the sacrifice of the RPG elements of Deus Ex: Invisible War is for the good though.

The new action and styles to attack, sneak past or use of techniques make Deus Ex: Invisible War change the balance of combat and progression throughout the game, so say you kill someone important but as a side character, one side may praise this, while the other will send a squad (to kill you) or curse you.

This is a good thing and helps let you eventually decide the ending that you choose. Moving on, the graphics in Deus Ex are actually some of the best on Xbox. The shadows and lighting make an atmospheric display to the world which makes a much better effect then the original Deus Ex several years before this one.

The only gripe I had with the graphics is the facial effects, which are very weak and lack detail. Despite this however, you're still able to tell if a character is happy, sad, angry, etc simply because of how brilliant the voice acting is. Even the side characters in Deus Ex Invisible War are well voiced. Accents are executed professionally and the music of the game, while not the major point of sale, is adequate to say the least.

Lastly the length of the game is excellent. However, the storyline moves too fast and it would've been nicer if there were more missions in each location. Despite this though, the missions are all suitably long and are balanced in difficulty. Overall Deus Ex Invisible War is a good purchase for Xbox, fans of the original may be disappointed by some of the changes made to the game, but new fans alike will enjoy experiencing the game for the first time on Xbox.
