Review of a DotA player.

User Rating: 6.5 | Demigod PC
I am not into pc gaming anymore. Since DotA sucked the life out of me, I went into consoles. But, even after gamespot review, I fought that I needed to play Demigod.

Demigod has the basics is pretty much the same as DotA. "Heroes" on each side leveling up, buying itens and following creeps. But where DotA, after years and years has become pretty solid in gameplay, Demigod needs to grow up. There's basics like knowing what your enemies inventory so you can make a strategy missing.

There's not really diferent itens and their icons are too smiliar and their bonuses are also not very diferent. (for instance, in DotA you have no doubt when your enemy has Eye of Skadi). Its like, you have an armor for 400, other for 550 which is better then the former, then a 1500 gold armor which is better then those before up to a 6k-7k armor, which is probably the best one. There is not like 3 or 4 armors with 6k-7k gold cost with different atributes so you can build a diferent strategy. (And once again, please, more iconic ICONS!!!). Also, you have favor itens, which you buy with favor points which you earn by doing achievements. To discover how to buy its, tho pretty simple, was a pain. And, there's no recepies, so, the main achievement from DotA that was balancing the game with cheaper itens that would become better ones late game is gone.

There's only 8 heroes to choose from, what is not that big deal, since they are very different from each other (but, there goes Tiny and Sniper). They are separated as Assassins (which deals direct damage) and Generals - which summons monsters. Skills are kinda messy, but you may get along. But there are some glitches that stops your hero to hit the other. I left lots of heros alive with 1 hit missing because my character just stoped. No reason.

Also, the game has flags around the map. You need to stand beside them to claim them for your team and the flag will give you some certain bonuses. That kinda adds some nice strategy to the game.

Creeps are week. You'll probably can charge them on lvl 1. I was not afraid to engage a hero with lots of creeps around him having none around me.

Anyways, I got disappointed. If they would copy the same formula from DotA, they should have done it exactly the same.
