100 % win , improvement on console version

User Rating: 9 | Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition PC
Just downloaded, am about one hour into the game again. I sold off my xbox copy when i got all achievements but bought it again now on Steam. It is after all imo about the best game ever to hit consoles (apart from Tekken :p)
I don't know what the fuss is about. My guess it's from people who didnt play the console version. The graphics are clearly sharper than what i had on my xbox. I can select 1920x1080 just fine (is that a patch they did by now?) And everything runs WAY more smoothly and responds better. Unless bligghttown still suffers from slowdown i think this is dark souls how it was meant to play in the first place. Not for noobs and whiners, the game is challenging, just right for a seasoned gamer who doesnt quit easily. If it gets a modding community going on then please add 0.6 to my rating to put it upthere with skyrim
(maybe the gfx just look way better cos of my ati 6970 no idea, i just know they do and everything runs lagfree (which probably means a lot less dying)
As more for the framerate ... i prefer the pc as gaming platform over any console every time. Only reason i have an xbox is because you can't get tekken or soulcalibur for pc. If they were i'd sell it off in no time. The framerate here set at 30fps might sound as something you don't want on a pc. Things is first of all 30fps steady is enough for the human eye to get the illusion of perfect fluid motion. Second, if it keeps its 30 steady, that means it's gonna move around a lot better than it did on the console. It shows from the start. If i get to blighttown i'll add a line or two to this opinion
After a couple of hours i'm still convinced , then again, to me this is an u ltimate game. Just one problem so far with the sound effect while walking through grass, might be my rig
hope to see more games stepping away from the darksiders/ubisoft 'look what i can do by pressing two buttons' cinematic pseudogameplay
blighttown, fair is fair, it definitely skips something ... might be textures loading but i doubt it, hardly noticeable, doesnt slow down but ... i hope that gets patched out
