Simultaneously hilarious, dirty, ironic, and intelligent… but above all, great fun!

No. 3 in my all time favourites list is Conker’s Bad Fur Day for the N64. With a large number of very cutesy 3D platformers on the N64, it was totally refreshing to see a more adult take on the highly enjoyable genre. The irony of the game kept me giggling from start to finish as the designers throw in parody after parody, not only of classic films, but also of the 3D platforming genre itself – a genre which Rare actually perfected with games like Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and Donkey Kong 64.
Apart from the brilliant movie & game references, dirty jokes, and black humour, the game itself was extremely enjoyable in its own right. Its variety of gameplay, excellent graphics and sound, and also a couple of very addictive multiplayer components made it an instant classic.
