This is, without a doubt, the most shocking game on the N64 and yet is one of the best platform games on the console.

User Rating: 9.5 | Conker's Bad Fur Day N64
Rare and Nintendo proved to gamers that they can be mature when they want to with Conker's Bad Fur Day. A game that was originally going to be a kid platformer, but it was completely retooled for a M rated game. Unfortunately, the game didn't sell well due to limited advertisement.

Story: 8

You play as Conker. A greedy little squirrel who got drunk one night and wound up lost in a strange land filled with even stranger characters. He must find his way home and collecting living money with potty mouths. The game has twisted, yet hilarious crude humor reminiscent to South Park. It even has parodies on movies such as Saving Private Ryan, Clockwork Orange, Alien, Dracula, Matrix and The Godfather. The main story isn't all that good, but the dialogue, potty jokes and crude humor make up for it.

Gameplay: 9

The gameplay is mostly run and jump like most games on the console, but is surprisingly challenging and a bit more linear because it dosn't focus much on collecting like Rare's previous games. There are several parts in the game where the gameplay turns into a 3rd person shooter. When you get your shot/machine gun, you can go into 3rd person mode by holding down the R button and C buttons to move which makes aiming a whole lot easier. The only complaint I have about the game play is that during the lever where you use a shotgun, you have to hold down the z button to make a laser pointer appear since you don't have a cursor. The multiplayer mini-games, which are reminiscent to shooter multiplayer games, are also fun when you have some friends over.

Graphics and sound: 10

It's, hands down, the best looking game for the N64. The lighting is amazing although it make the game a bit harder when your aiming and timing your jumps. The game features great dialogue and talented voices despite the small voice cast. It was pretty rare for the N64 to feature voice acting as opposed to text. The game even has more line and dialogue then Star Fox 64

Overall: 9.5

If you still have an N64, like crude humor, or want a challenging platform game, then Conker's Bad Fur Day is a great game for you collection if you can find it.
