For it's day, it was the hottest thing in a little black cartridge for the underdog Sega system.

I remember getting this game for Christmas when I was 11 years old, and I think I literally played it every day for about a month or so. This game was so innovative and involved another interest of mine, comic books.

You played as "Sketch", a pony-tailed comic book artist who gets thrown into his own comic book world by the very villain he created. Upon entering this world, he realizes that he needs to fight his way back to the real while the villain sits at his desk, drawing enemies for you to fight. Never in a million years would I ever think of any developer mixing the two worlds of video games and comic books, but Sega did it flawlessly, having your main character jump from frame to frame, with an impressive array of fighting moves no less, even including talk-bubble commentary from your character and villains alike throughout the game.

Granted the game was rather short-lived, with only having six stages, I think the last time I played it I blew through it in about an hour or so. Going by the standards back then, this game wasn't quite revolutionary, but it was still damn impressive, and it gave Sega once last chance to stick it to Nintendo before letting the Genesis bite the dust.
