The novelty fades quickly.

User Rating: 6.5 | Child of Eden X360
Child Of Eden, like most Kinect games, is little more than a novelty. Not to say it isn't fun at first, but it is extremely linear, the controls aren't always as accurate as they should be, and what really frustrated me is that with the Kinect you have to stand up to play. I don't mind standing, I'm not so lazy that I can't handle being on my feet for a couple minutes, but for people with limited space or who just want to kick back on a couch and play a game, it is certainly inconvenient. I am aware that Child Of Eden can also be played with the controller, but I found that method to be outright boring. Last and certainly not least, as well as being incredibly linear, the game only features five different levels, most of which you must play several times through to earn enough stars to progress to the next one. The combination of being linear, offering so few levels, and forcing me to replay levels left me wishing I had saved that $50 I paid and put it towards Skyrim.
