Why do I love this game so much? Short answer: Grant. Long answer: Grant DaNasty. My favorite video game character, this side of one Max Payne, is found within the plastic and circuitry of this NES cartridge. Not only that, but the fact that you can choose from one of three partners for Trevor Belmont, the main protagonist, make it an interesting game warranting several play-throughs. One of those partners is Alucard, which marked his first appearance in the series. The third Belmont-helper is Sypha Belnades, a magician whose bloodline is expounded upon in later installments of the series. So, in short, if you're a fan of Castlevania as a whole, this is a must-buy. If you don't own an NES, nor have the means to play this game, do yourself a favor and track down a copy of "Konami Collectors Series: Castlevania & Contra" for the PC. Not only does it contain all three NES Castlevania games, but it also includes the NES versions of Contra and Super C. It's a great deal.
