its a nice looking and fun classic style castlevania. what more do you need?

ok it doesn't have an eight way whip. it also doesnt have whip swinging or rotating levels. so why do i think this is better than Super Castlevania IV? well for one simon looks a lot better here than he does in the SNES game. This game has beaitiful art as well, probably tops in the series. This also the only game to feature the herb, a subweapon which allows you to use hearts to raise your health anytime, which if you have played any old school CV, you know that just that little bit could make the difference between finishing a stage and dying a horrible death. the first four levels at least are really great, not only beatiiful but also just fun to play through and memorable. One thing the other reviews got right is the music is really really good. (well duh its a CV game) the only downside is it is fairly linear. its still fun but it is a sraightt shot (a save feature but there is no level selecting features)
