GameSpot has overly bashed and beaten this game, ignoring that it was a port of an Nintendo Entertainment System game.

User Rating: 8.5 | Akumajou Nendaiki: Akumajo Dracula PS
Castlevania Chronicles was a great game. It was originally a game released in 1986 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was ported to the Sharp X86000 in 1993 (only in Japan) as Akumajō Dracula (roughly translates to 'Devil's Castle Dracula' or 'Demon Castle Dracula'), and was ported to the Sony PlayStation in 2001. The reason I put a history lesson is because GameSpot ignored that this game is a port. Now, I will respond to some issues that anyone may point out about this game:

Complaint: The controls are bad
Answer: The game is designed around these controls

Complaint: The graphics are bad for PlayStation standards
Answer: Graphics don't matter nearly as much as gameplay

Complaint: The game is in 2D
Answer: This game is a port of a game released in 1986, cut it some slack

Complaint: This game is too hard
Answer: Extreme difficulty was standard when the original Nintendo Entertainment System version came out
