If you liked the old school Castlevania games from the Super NES and NES, then, you'll like Castlevania Chronicles. Castlevania Chronicles is basically two versions of remakes of the original Castlevania game. There is an original version which was released in Japan, but, never in US, on another system. (I don't which system it was) The other version is the arranged version which has some new sprites and redone sound. The gameplay in this game is good, it plays just like the Castlevania games back on the SNES and NES. So if you played Castlevania games on those systems, then, you'll feel right at home. The graphics are a bit dated because the original version of CV Chronicles came out back in '93, so the graphics have some age on them. The sound really shines on this game! There are some remixes of memorable tunes on this game like Vampire Killer and Bloody Tears. The music on the stages sound really good as well as the sound effects. The Castlevania games in the past have been hard, and this game is no exception. So, if you want a classic challenging 2D side scroller, then, Castlevania Chronicles is a good pick. Castlevania fans would want to definitely pick this up.
