Simple, Fun, and Cheap!

User Rating: 7.2 | Calling All Cars! PS3
What you get with CAC is a very simple, fun game that is basically there to buy you some time while waiting on major PS3 titles. "Tangibles" in the game are not impressive in any manner. Graphics are by far the only high point of technical aspects of the game. Sound is very repetitive and while for the 1st 15 minutes of gameplay you will find the stereotypical irish cop shout-out amusing and maybe even funny it gets more than old soon after. Controls in essence are very simple but there is a lack of response, and even though its almost a toy-type of game, you will find yourself hindered by lack of maneuverability on high difficulty settings.

As for the gameplay itself, CAC offers 4 maps and a fine variety of entertaining cars. One downfall, however is that most of the REAL fun cars you will have to unlock and certain demands are just preposterous considering the simplicity and the basic idea of the game. So unless you find yourself strangly attracted to the game, chances are you will unlock 3-4 cars and get back to play all the multiplayer modes.

This brings me to my last part of the review, the game modes. As mentioned before 1p modes gets old VERY quick. However, multitude of multiplayer game modes are what bring a fresh ray of fun to this game. You can go up to 4 player split scree, online 1p, and online split-screen. The last of the fore-mentioned modes is by far most fun as it allows you to sit there with your buddies and duke it out with other across the planet w/o working up a sweat. in short, fast paces and very simple games.

So overall, considering the price, the multiplayer value i found CAC to be by all means worth the DL.
