By far the best game on the series

User Rating: 9.5 | Call of Duty 2 PC
Call of Duty 2 is a FPS set during World War II, just like the first game in the series. When the first Call of Duty came on the market, it shocked the gaming market by being one of the best WWII FPS games: it had a great single player campaign, amazing sound effects and a very enjoyable multiplayer. If you were a fan of the original game, you will probably be extremely happy that Activision has brought all of those aspects to CoD2 as well as new features. Any CoD addict will easily become very addicted to CoD2.

I have played this game since it was released and I extremely liked it. Not only you have a great single player campaign where you can be playing a part in D-Day, at the assault of Pointe du Hoc or you can take on the role of a British tank commander in North Africa, for example, but also you have a even better multiplayer mode with servers up until to a maxium of 64 players (on PC platform). There are 5 gametype modes which are Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Search & Destroy, Capture the Flag and Headquarters that can be played in 13 maps, including 3 remakes from the original CoD.
The most popular gametype is Search and Destroy where one team has to plant a bomb at one of the other teams two objectives (A and B) in order to blow it up. The 2 most popular maps are Toujane, in Tunisia and Carentan, in France (1 of the 3 remakes from the original CoD).
There are a great variety of weapons from sub-machine guns, bolt action rifles, semiautomatic rifles, shotgun, assault rifles and sniper rifles. The grenades are the same as in single player and depending on the weapon you choose, you will get a different amount of grenades. The smoke grenades are very effective in multiplayer (despite decreasing your FPS - frames per second). The weapons and damage model is a little higher in multiplayer so you will find that you will die from a lot less bullets than you did when playing single player.
If you are playing on multiplayer, do not try to camp anywhere as it is hard to find a good spot to plop yourself, as the action is always happening in a fast pace. If you want to be suceeded on multiplayer, just try to peak around every corner instead of just running in like a noob and get easily killed. This is a basic tip that should be followed in every FPS game.

To sum up, I would have to say that Call of Duty 2 continues the great game play that the original Call of Duty started: the graphics and sounds are impressive, the gameplay is intense, the single player campaign is extremely compelling and the multiplayer is extraordinary fun. Therefore, I would highly recommend this game to any FPS lover.
